Argentine clubs Talleres and Independiente Rivadivia are ironing out the structure of a deal to send defender Tomas Palacios to Inter Milan.

This according to Argentine journalist Javier Nievas. He reports in a tweet that the two clubs met yesterday and that Inter are ready to offer 6 million and that resale percentage for Talleres could be key to a deal.

Palacios is increasingly looking like he is the defender Inter have decided to sign before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri have cast a wide net in their search for a defender over the past few weeks.

There had been the idea of an experienced stopgap solution on a free transfer. The Berazzyrri considered the likes of Ricardo Rodriguez and Mario Hermoso.

Then, Inter had reportedly been on the verge of a deal for defender Juan Cabal before he instead joined Juventus.

Meanwhile the likes of Zenit St. Petersburg’s Robert Renan, Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, and Genoa’s Johan Vazquez have also been on the Nerazzurri’s radar.

More recently, links have emerged to Nantes defender Nathan Zeze, Dinamo Zagreb defender Mauro Perkovic, and Valencia defender Yarek Gasiorowski.

However, after considering all of these possible targets Inter appear to have settled upon the idea of signing Palacios.

Talleres & Independiente Rivadivia Ironing Out Tomas Palacios Transfer To Inter

An important wrinkle in Palacios’s situation is the fact that he is currently on loan at Independiente Rivadivia from Talleres.

The former club have the option to buy the young Argentine at the end of his loan deal.

The loan runs out at the end of December of this year. And Rivadivia can sign him on a permanent basis at that point.

However, Inter’s interest means that Palacios is unlikely to even see out his loan at Rivadivia.

But on top of all that, Rivadivia have a 50% purchase option on Palacios.

Therefore, the clubs have had to factor all of this into how a deal would be structured for the 21-year-old to join Inter.

According to Argentine journalist Nievas, though, resale percentage could be the key.

Inter have made clear that they’re ready to pay 6 million to sign Palacios. And now it is between the two Argentine clubs to sort out a deal.
