Legendary former Inter Milan captain Beppe Bergomi feels that “everyone believes in” defender Yann Bisseck at the Nerazzurri.

Bergomi praised the German while speaking on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Bisseck got the start for Inter in their first Serie A match of the season.

The 23-year-old was in the lineup ahead of French international Benjamin Pavard.

That is a reflection of how far Bisseck has come at Inter over the past twelve months.

Just last summer, the German had arrived as a virtually unknown quantity from Danish side Aarhus.

Accordingly, Bisseck did not become a regular starter for Inter right away.

However, over the course of last season, Bisseck started to cement a place for himself in the team.

In preseason, the German had been one of Inter’s outstanding performers. Therefore, it was not too much of a surprise seeing him start in Inter’s first competitive match of the season.

Inter Legend Bergomi: “Everyone Believes In Yann Bisseck”

It was a difficult evening for Bisseck against Genoa on Saturday.

There were plenty of positives for the 23-year-old. But he was also the player who gave away the penalty that allowed the Grifone to equalize in stoppage time.

Nevertheless, legendary former defender Bergomi has no doubts. “Everyone at Inter believes in Bisseck,” he said.

“They even rejected an offer of 30 million. And they’re not necessarily going to sign a left-footed defender, because Bisseck could play on the left of a back three.”

As far as the match against Genoa, Bergomi said that “Inter played a good match against a tough opponent.”

“Genoa are excellent defensively, as they showed last season. But they lack reference points in attack.”

Bergomi then noted that “Inter are the oldest team in Serie A.”

“But if the players over thirty in the squad have another season like the last one, then they can certainly be competitive to win the title.”

“If the hunger is still there and they avoid careless moments, that is.”

Bergomi argued that “Inter did better than they had last season away in Genoa.”
