The next meeting between Inter Milan and AC Milan with the city of Milan will be decisive for the future of the San Siro.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the decisive meeting should come in the second week of September.

As of now, the fate of the San Siro remains up in the air.

Everything will hinge on the decisions of Inter and Milan.

In July, architectural design firm WeBuild presented their plans to renovate the iconic stadium to the clubs.

This is part of a last-ditch effort by Milan Mayor Beppe Sala to keep Inter and Milan at the stadium.

The Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri have been quickly moving away from that idea.

Having pursued plans to try and demolish and replace the San Siro for several years, which met insurmountable bureaucratic hurdles, the clubs are ready to go their own ways.

Inter have been working towards plans to build in the commune of Rozzano. Milan are even further along with their own plans in the San Donato area.

Next Meeting With Inter & AC Milan Decisive For Future Of San Siro

So, for a few weeks, Inter and Milan have had the plans of WeBuild to mull over.

WeBuild, and Milan Mayor Sala, hope that these plans can convince the clubs that they can stay at the San Siro and increase their revenues to be in line with other big European clubs.

The Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri have been analyzing the plans.

Both clubs have a fairly clear decision to make.

They can either decide to stay in the San Siro under the new renovations of WeBuild, or they can turn down the opportunity in order to continue to pursue their alternate plans.

As of yet, neither Inter nor Milan have made their decision. They have been taking the time to reflect, and Sala and the city are waiting for them to deliver their response.

According to Tuttosport, that definitive response should come in mid-September.

The next meeting between Inter, Milan, and the city will take place in the second week of next month.

And according to Tuttosport, there is no doubt that that meeting will be decisive.

After that meeting, there will be no more doubts or uncertainty. Either one or both of Inter and Milan will stay at a renovated San Siro for the long-term future, or both clubs will abandon the stadium to build elsewhere.,
