Liverpool are in talks with Juventus to try and sign Inter Milan target Federico Chiesa before the end of the transfer window.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInterNews.

One thing that is very clear is that Juventus are trying to get rid of Chiesa.

Bianconeri has made it crystal clear both publicly and in face-to-face conversations with Chiesa that the Italian international is not part of his plans for the season.

And Chiesa is only under contract with Juventus for less than twelve months. His deal runs out at the end of next June.

Therefore, Juventus have shown a willingness to sell Chiesa for a cut-price fee.

Even so, it is now a race against time for the Old Lady to actually complete a deal for Chiesa.

Otherwise, they could be stuck with the Italian international since at least the January transfer window.

Liverpool In Talks With Juventus For Inter Target Federico Chiesa

A few teams have shown an interest in taking advantage of Chiesa’s situation.

Earlier this month, the links to Inter had been especially prominent.

The Nerazzurri’s interest has always centred more on the idea of a free transfer.

Inter have certainly grown a reputation for being one of Europe’s top teams when it comes to exploiting free transfer opportunities. So waiting for Chiesa’s deal to expire would be in line with their MO.

But on the other hand, Inter have even given consideration to offering a fee for Chiesa.

However, as of yet, Inter have not made their move. They have been waiting to see if Chiesa would stay at Juventus in the very final days of the transfer window.

And in the meantime, a new suitor has emerged in the last couple days.

Liverpool have considered Chiesa as a surprise reinforcement in attack, pouncing on the Italian international’s situation.

And according to Di Marzio, the Reds have been in very active talks with Juventus yesterday and today.
