Inter Milan still have not received any offers for out-of-favour forward Joaquin Correa as the end of the transfer window approaches.

This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that the 30-year-old could very well stay at the Nerazzurri, which coach Simone Inzaghi would be happy with.

Correa has looked to be a player who Inter have wanted to offload for much of the summer transfer window.

The Argentine returned to the Nerazzurri following a disastrous loan spell at Marseille last season.

And Inter have hardly considered Correa to be a part of their plans for this season.

Moreover, the former Lazio and Sevilla forward earns 3.5 million net per season on the final season of his deal, which expires at the end of next June.

Therefore, Inter would like to get rid of Correa’s wage bill.

Still No Offers For Inter Outcast Joaquin Correa

It is not as though there has been zero interest in Correa’s signature.

Genoa have been at the centre of the most prominent recent reports. Correa has also been offered to Roma.

There has in fact been some tentative interest all summer.

River Plate are keen on bringing the 29-year-old back to his home country Argentina.

There has been interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. As there has been from the Saudi Pro League.

Then, two of Correa’s former clubs have sounded out a surprise return in the form of Lazio and Sevilla.

And recent rumours have also linked the out-of-favour Inter forward with Monza and Real Betis.

Then, there are also AEK Athens pushing to sign Correa this summer.

However, despite all these clubs considering Correa as a potential target, the 30-year-old’s wages have been a major obstacle as no interested clubs would be able to pay them.

Moreover, Inter would be reluctant to let Correa to go for free.

The Argentine is still amortized for a significant amount. Therefore, an exit on a free transfer would represented a significant capital loss for the Nerazzurri.

For that same reason, Inter would not seriously consider the idea of terminating Correa contract.

That means that, unless an offer comes in, Correa will stay at Inter.

There are just a few days left to go before the summer transfer window closes. Therefore, any offers would have to be truly last-minute.

Inter will listen to offers for Correa right to the bitter end.

But if none arrive, Inter coach Inzaghi would be more than happy to keep the former Lazio forward around.

The Nerazzurri coach wants as much attacking depth as possible.

Correa will not be part of Inter’s Champions League squad. But he could be a player who takes up some league minutes to allow other forwards to rest.

Inzaghi is well aware that, if Correa leaves, Inter won’t sign a replacement at least until the January transfer window.
