RC Strasbourg have reportedly decided to resume their talks with Inter Milan for outcast goalkeeper Ionut Andrei Radu.

The Bucharest native has been on the Nerazzurri’s books since 2013. But after rising through the club’s youth ranks, he couldn’t prove himself worthy of a regular starting spot with the first team.

The 27-year-old’s last appearance for Inter remains the infamous outing against Bologna in April 2022.

The encounter was decided by a major blunder from the Romanian, which proved to be a massive blow for the club in a razor-tight Scudetto race against their arch-rivals AC Milan.

Since then, Radu had loan spells at Cremonese, AJ Auxerre and Bournemouth.

This summer, the goalkeeper was seemingly close to joining Sassuolo on loan. A move to Palermo was also in the work.

But his agent explained yesterday, the Romanian rejected the move due to the lack of guarantees over his future.

With Less than 48 hours separating from the end of the summer transfer session, Radu’s future remains up in the air.

Nevertheless, an old suitor has reportedly reignited its interest in the Nerazzurri exile.

According to Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews, Strasbourg have decided to rekindle their attempts to sign the former Genoa man.

Les Bleu et Blanc currently sit sixth in the league standings. They collected four points from their first two outings of the season in the French top flight.

So it remains to be seen if the Ligue 1 side will manage to put the deal over the line before tomorrow’s deadline.

For his part, Radu has a contract with the Nerazzurri that runs until the end of the season.
