“Super” Marcus Thuram has enjoyed an explosive start to the Serie A season with Inter Milan after a disappointing EURO 2024 with France.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, highlight the Frenchman’s blazing first three matches of the campaign.

Thuram is certainly a player who made an impact in his first season at Inter.

Last campaign, the Frenchman instantly established himself as a regular source of goals and assists for the Nerazzurri.

And moreover, Thuram’s linkup with Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez quickly became key to Inter’s entire style of play.

That led to big expectations for Thuram with France at the Euros.

However, the 27-year-old was never really able to reproduce his best form for his club in a national team shirt.

Thuram had a very different role leading the line for Les Bleus compared to the Nerazzurri. And there was a certain sense that it showed on the pitch.

“Super Thuram” Enjoys Explosive Start To The Season With Inter Milan

If there was any worry that a hangover from Thuram’s disappointing Euros would carry over into his start to the club campaign, that has very quickly been put to rest, though.

Thuram has been Inter’s form player at the start of this season.

The Frenchman has bagged four goals from just three matches.

And Thuram was also the player who forced Atalanta’s Berat Djimsiti into an own goal early in Friday’s 4-0 win.

Clearly, the 27-year-old has started the season feeling that he has something to prove.

Partly, the Euros could be the reason for this. Now that Thuram is back at Inter playing in coach Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system, he is able to play at his dynamic best.

Then, there is the arrival of Mehdi Taremi.

The Iranian international striker certainly adds more competition for a starting spot in attack.

But Thuram is doing everything he can to hold Taremi off with his form at the start of the season.

Meanwhile, the Inter striker has also seen his brother Khephren join rivals Juventus this summer.

That is one more reason for Thuram to want to raise his profile, in a sort of family competitive spirit.
