Inter Milan have by far the biggest wage bill in Serie A, while Juventus and AC Milan are the only other two clubs to exceed the €100 million threshold.

The Nerazzurri enter the new campaign as the reigning champions and ultimate favorites to retain their league title.

Most fans and observers believe Simone Inzaghi has the most formidable squad at his disposal in Italian football, and the wage bill certainly reflects as much.

According to Calcio e Finanza, Inter have the largest wage bill in Italian football. The combined gross salaries of their players is 141.7 million euros.

The Nerazzurri now have a solid squad that includes two competent options for almost every playing role.

The additions of Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski added depth to the ranks, but also had its effect on the wage bill.

Moreover, the management was hellbent on securing the services of some of the club’s main pillars, armoring them with new and improved contracts with long deadlines. This includes the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella and Federico Dimarco.

For their part, Juventus had been reigning supreme on this front for over a decade. However, the Bianconeri offloaded some of their largest earners in the summer.

The list features the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Wojciech Szczesny and Federico Chiesa.
