Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi has won plaudits for his performance for Italy against France yesterday.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, gave the 24-year-old a score of 8/10 for his performance in the player ratings for the Nations League match.

Frattesi got the start for Italy in yesterday’s Nations League match against France.

The Inter midfielder formed the Azzurri’s starting trio alongside Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali and Torino’s Samuele Ricci.

Italy coach Luciano Spalletti relied a lot on the energy and physicality of the two box-to-box midfielders in the central battle.

And in that respect, Frattesi put in exactly the performance he needed to.

Italy went behind very early on in yesterday’s match, with Bradley Barcola scoring inside a minute.

But the Azzurri did not become discouraged. They played a high-energy match and pushed for goals.

Davide Frattesi Hailed For Performance Vs France – Dimarco & Bastoni Also Receive Praise

Key to these efforts was Inter midfielder Frattesi.

The 24-year-old timed his forward runs very well, and his decision-making in the final third was unerring.

Frattesi got the better of French midfield duo Yusuf Fofana and N’Golo Kante throughout his time on the pitch.

Frattesi was the player who scored the goal that gave Italy the lead for the first time. But in truth, there was far more to his performance.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta also gave high scores to the other two Inter players on the pitch yesterday.

Wingback Federico Dimarco received a score of 7.5/10, particularly for his stunning first-time volley to equalize.

And then defender Alessandro Bastoni got a grade of 7/10.

In the view of the Gazzetta, Bastoni in particular showed a sense of leadership and calm that allowed Italy to gain control of the match after the early setback of going behind within a minute.
