Italy coach Luciano Spalletti believes that Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi avoided any major injury in yesterday’s win over France.

The coach addressed Frattesi’s fitness in a press conference after the Nations League match, as reported by FCInterNews.

Frattesi was in the Italy starting eleven for yesterday’s Nations League win over France.

The Inter midfielder has yet to make a start for his club so far this season. But for his national team, Frattesi remains a regular starter.

And the 24-year-old repaid the faith that Azzurri coach Luciano Spalletti showed in him.

Frattesi got on the scoresheet as Italy came back from an early France goal to win 3-1.

The Inter midfielder also showed his quality in several other ways. He was a decisive presence in the midfield battle for the comeback victory.

Spalletti: “Davide Frattesi Caught Injury In Time”

Frattesi was not able to see out the entire ninety minutes of yesterday’s match, however.

As has become something of a theme for the Italian international, he had a bit of a fitness problem that caused him to have to come off.

The issue was not a serious injury. But Frattesi did still come off as a precaution during the second half.

Now, the question will be whether Frattesi’s condition will allow him to make a swift return for Inter after the break.

The Nerazzurri’s fixture list will certainly require contributions from all through the squad.

A key factor in Frattesi’s condition could be whether or not the player aggravated the problem by playing on despite it.

And according to Italy coach Spalletti, that is not the case.

“Frattesi said that he caught it in time,” said the Italy coach of the Inter midfielder’s injury scare.”

“So he asked to come off as soon as he felt a bit of muscle fatigue.”
