Former Fiorentina coach Paulo Sosa believes that Inter Milan can replicate the dominant run that Juventus went on in Serie A last decade.

The Portuguese coach made the bold prediction while speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, in an interview in today’s print edition via FCInterNews.

Inter are looking to become the first team to win back-to-back Serie A titles since 2020.

The 2019-20 season marked the final Scudetto for Juventus in a sequence that saw them win a remarkable nine in a row.

Inter snapped that run in the 2020-21 campaign. And since then, AC Milan, Napoli, and then the Nerazzurri again have all won it.

On paper, Inter are well-placed to successfully defend their title.

The Nerazzurri were dominant last season, nearly twenty points clear of second in the table.

And unlike when Napoli had cruised to the title, Inter have kept the entire core of last season’s team together, from the coach to the starting eleven.

As such, Inter will feel that they can replicate last season’s standard of performances in the league.

Paulo Sosa: “Inter Can Replicate Juventus Run Of Serie A Titles”

Obviously, even another title victory would be a long way from the near decade of success that Juventus enjoyed in the 2010s.

But in the view of former coach Sosa, the foundations are there for something similar in the long term.

As far as what he thinks Inter can do going forward, Sosa boldly predicted that they can “Win a string of back-to-back titles, and dominate Italian football.”

“The Bianconeri reached nine in a row,” Sosa noted. “And the Nerazzurri are no different.”

“They have the intensity, the mentality, the ideas, and the right people running the club,” he argued.

“There’s a squad of world-class players,” Sosa continued. “And above all, their coach.”

“Inzaghi is now a certainty in Europe,” he argued.

Sosa hailed Inter’s “calm in managing the pressure.”

“In recent years the pressure has been on them to win. But in the end, they always managed to win the Scudetto.”
