Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi, defender Alessandro Bastoni, and wingback Federico Dimarco have won praise for the performances in Italy’s Nations League win over Israel.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, award high marks to the Nerazzurri trio in the player ratings for the clash.

For two matches in a row, Italy coach Spalletti went with three Inter players in his starting eleven.

The coach used a 3-5-2 shape once again, which is familiar to the Nerazzurri players from club level.

Midfielder Frattesi played on the right of the central trio. And Dimarco took up his familiar role on the left flank.

Meanwhile, Bastoni played on the left of the back three. However, the 25-year-old did not have Riccardo Calafiori to play alongside, with the Arsenal defender having become his usual partner at the back.

Inter Trio Frattesi, Bastoni & Dimarco Praised For Italy Displays Vs Israel

The Gazzetta give defender Bastoni a score of 7/10 for his performance yesterday.

The newspaper note that the Inter defender took on extra responsibility getting forward with Calafiori absent.

And in the view of the Gazzetta, Bastoni was not altogether successful in his efforts. He did not have quite the impact that Calafiori has in the role.

Still, it was a rock-solid performance from the Inter defender, the Gazzetta argues.

Bastoni showed exactly why he has become Italy’s leader in defense.

Then on the left flank, Dimarco had the same kind of performance that has become his standard both for Italy and for Inter.

The 26-year-old was a creative reference point for the Azzurri.

And it was Dimarco who assisted his teammate Davide Frattesi for Italy’s first goal.

Both Dimarco and Frattesi showed their individual quality on that goal, as well as their understanding from club level.

The Gazzetta give Dimarco a grade of 7/10, while Frattesi receives 7.5/10.
