Zlatan Ibrahimovic is certainly the most famous Swedish player to ever don the Inter Milan jersey, but he wasn’t the first.

So it’s time to take a trip down memory lane and remember every Sweden export who made his way to the blue side of Milano.

This summer, the Italian champions struck an agreement with Betsson Group who became the club’s new main sponsor.

This move revived the old ties between the Nerazzurri and the Scandinavian nation.

Inter pounced on their recent exploits on the pitch and revitalized their status as one of the elite clubs in Europe to secure their biggest sponsorship deal ever.

Betsson is a betting giant based in Sweden but has been rapidly expanding all over the globe. This is also evidenced by the company’s new commercial partnership with Lega Serie A.

And alongside Betsson, the Swedish market is filled with prominent betting websites that allow their clients to place wagers even without a Swedish license, and thanks to spelbolagutansvensklicens.co, you can find the cream of the crop.

Through their partnership with Betsson, Inter’s status in Sweden could witness a further boost. Nevertheless, the club’s association with Swedish football dates all the way back to the 1950s.

So let’s enlist all five Swedish players who have represented Inter Milan:

Lennart Skoglund

Lennart Skoglund is a Nerazzurri legend in his own right. The left winger proudly donned the famous back-and-blue jersey between 1950 and 1959.

The former Sweden international made 246 appearances for the Serie A giants, scoring 57 goals in the process. His time at San Siro yielded two Scudetto titles.

The winger then had another two stints in Italian football with Sampdoria and Palermo before returning to his original club Hammarby.

Skoglund passed away in 1975 at the young age of 45.

Bengt Lindskog

While Skoglund was in the latter stages of his Nerazzurri spell, Bengt Lindskog signed for the club in 1958.

The Malmo native had made himself a name in Italian football with a stint at Udinese.

The midfielder made a century of appearances for Inter and scored 34 goals, but didn’t win any major honors during his three years at San Siro.

Goran Slavkovski

Slavkovski was once a promising striker who spent four years in Inter’s youth ranks. After a loan spell at Sheffield United, he was released in 2009, and wasn’t able to fulfill his initial promise, prompting an early retirement.

Nevertheless, he still made two brief cameos with the first team, and has a Serie A title to his name.

Sebastian Carlsén

Sebastian Carlsén was a defensive mifielder who once rose through the club’s ranks. However, he never made an appearance for the first team.

The 33-year-old went on to have a nomadic career between Sweden and Denmark and has been without a club since 2022.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic isn’t just the most famous Swedish player to play for Inter Milan, but also the most renowned player in the history of Swedish football.

The superstar striker made the controversial switch from Juventus to Inter following the Calciopoli scandal in 2006. He immediately established himself as the ultimate attraction at the club.

The Swedish giant won three league titles in as many years before leaving the club in search of European glory.

Ironically, his Barcelona succumbed at the hands of Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning Inter side in an iconic Champions League semi-final clash.

Ibra went on to represent the likes of AC Milan, PSG and Manchester United in one of the most elusive careers in football history.
