Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi could reportedly drop Lautaro Martinez, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu from his starting lineup.

The Nerazzurri will be aiming to collect three points on Sunday against their Lombardian neighbors. However, they must also keep an eye on their two upcoming clashes.

The Italian champions will head to England for a top Champions League clash against Man City before taking on AC Milan in the Derby Della Madonnina in the following weekend.

Therefore, Inzaghi will be looking to ring the changes to his starting lineup.

According to Sport Mediaset via FcInterNews, the coach will be resting three main pillars in the shape of Martinez, Calhanoglu and Mkhitaryan.

These three players are rarely dropped from the starting lineup. The Argentine is often the one spearheading the attack alongside Marcus Thuram.

Moreover, the Turkiye international is the club’s main deep-lying playmaker. He’s the one who pulls the strings in the middle of the park.

As for Mkhitaryan, he was almost omnipresent in Inzaghi’s starting lineup last season. The Armenian is capable of linking up the midfield with the attack.

Who Will Replace Lautaro Martinez, Henrikh Mkhitaryan & Hakan Calhanoglu In Monza Vs Inter Milan Clash

Mehdi Taremi will be looking to earn a starting berth upfront, while Carlos Augusto and Stefan de Vrij are aiming for their first start of the season at the back.

The same goes for Kristjan Asllani who is Calhanoglu’s main understudy. Piotr Zielinski and Davide Frattesi will be vying to replace Mkhitaryan in the box-to-box role.

Finally, Denzel Dumfries could also get his maiden start of the season. The Dutchman has been playing second fiddle to Matteo Darmian thus far.
