Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Ruben Dias will all be back in the Man City starting eleven to face Inter Milan this evening.

This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews.

Inter and Manchester City both undoubtedly had this evening’s match in their minds over the weekend.

Both Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi and his City counterpart Pep Guardiola made some rotations to their starting elevens.

In Inzaghi’s case, he left out all of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Alessandro Bastoni for his team’s away trip to Monza. None of the trio even came off the bench.

Meanwhile, Guardiola did not play a full-strength lineup against Brentford.

Rodri, Silva, and Dias all started that match on the bench. In their place, the likes of John Stones, Matteo Kovacic, and Ilkay Gundogan got the start.

However, all three of Rodri, Silva, and Dias did come on as substitutes against Brentford.

This evening, though, both Inzaghi and Guardiola will be aiming to name a strong team.

The rematch from the 2023 Champions League final at the Etihad is arguably the marquee fixture of the first round of the “league phase” as it pits two genuine contenders for the trophy.

And therefore, according to FCIN, City coach Guardiola plans to bring back three players in the spine of his team.

In midfield, Rodri will certainly start. The Spaniard is the player who broke Inter hearts with the winning goal in the 2023 final.

Meanwhile, Portuguese international Dias will marshal the Cityzens defense against Inter.

And in midfield, another Portuguese international will return in the form of former Monaco and Benfica man Bernardo Silva.

Meanwhile, FCIN report, City’s summer signing Savinho will be available. He had to come off against Brentford, but it was just cramp.

And both defender Nathan Ake and forward Phil Foden will both be fit and available. Neither are expected to start, however.
