German referee Felix Zwyer will be in charge of Inter Milan’s Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade this week.

This is confirmed by UEFA, via FCInterNews. The experienced referee will head up an all-German refereeing crew, with Bastian Dankert on VAR duty.

On Tuesday, Inter will play their second match of the season in the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri face Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade.

Inter got their Champions League campaign off to an impressive start. They secured a point away to Manchester City, going toe-to-toe with the Premier League juggernauts for a goalless draw.

Meanwhile, Red Star lost their opener in Europe’s top club competition.

The Serbian side hosted Benfica, falling to a 1-2 defeat despite a frenetic late push.

Inter will hardly be underestimating their opposition on Tuesday, however.

Red Star are currently top of the Serbian league table. They have won eight matches, drawn one, and lost none in the league.

This season has marked a significant change to the format for the Champions League.

Rather than six group stage matches home and away to three teams, Inter are facing eight different teams.

The Nerazzurri have some momentum to build on in Europe after their clash with City.

But now Inter must keep it up in Tuesday’s match against Red Star.

Felix Zwyer To Referee Inter Vs Red Star Clash – Bastian Dankert On VAR

The referee for Tuesday’s match will be Felix Zwyer.

Assisting Zwyer in his duties will be fellow German officials Robert Kempter and Christian Dietz.

The role of the fourth official, meanwhile, will fall to Florian Badstuber.

In the VAR booth, Bastian Dankert will oversee the match to ensure to correct any errors by the on-pitch officials.

Assisting Dankert in his duties will be Benjamin Brand.

Inter will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than refereeing controversy.
