Simone Inzaghi only had kind words for his Inter Milan squad following a commanding 4-0 walloping of Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday night.

During his post-match interview with Inter TV, as reported by FCInterNews, Inzaghi showed the utmost respect for his team following another dream UEFA Champions League night.

Three points were imperative for Inter last night, considering they entered the game as odds-on favorites.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri knew that anything other than a victory would undo their impressive work against Manchester United.

Inter held one of Europe’s fiercest sides to a commendable scoreless draw at the Etihad Stadium on matchday one.

Another clean sheet inspired them to an emphatic triumph last night, increasing Inzaghi’s confidence ahead of a packed schedule.

Early Serie A slumps have seemingly failed to impact Inter’s winning mentality.

As admitted by the manager, everyone deserved credit for the win, not only the goalscorers.

It only testifies to the unity of this cohesive group and potentially lays down the foundation for another trophy-laden campaign.

Inter Milan Boss Simone Inzaghi Confident He Has An Excellent Squad at His Disposal

“We played an excellent game, we approached it well,” Inzaghi pointed out.

“We knew that Red Star would play a purely defensive game, we were good at moving the ball well and then we had a great second half.

“The final result is deserved.”

The highly-rated manager also explained his tactical decision to bench several first-team regulars.

“72 hours ago we were on the pitch in Udine, in a few days we had to prepare for an important match.

” I have an excellent squad and from time to time I have to make the best choices for the good of Inter.”

However, Inzaghi urged his team not to get complacent and ‘move forward.’

“We have to move forward; we have four points in the Champions League, eleven in Serie A.

“And we have to find that continuity that is important for us.”

Last but not least, he expects a ‘difficult’ match against Torino on Saturday.

“We know it will be a difficult and very important match for us.

“We will have to be good at preparing for it in the best possible way.”
