Simone Inzaghi feels that Inter Milan are “paying the price for every error” after some shambolic defending in a 3-2 win over Torino.

The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

For the second weekend in a row, Inter have won by a 3-2 scoreline.

The Nerazzurri had prevailed by the odd goal in a five-goal thriller against Udinese last time out.

And this time, Inter won by that same scoreline against Torino.

The Nerazzurri certainly dominated this evening’s match against the Granata. That is hardly a surprise considering that they played with a numerical advantage for more than three quarters of the match.

And Inter managed to get the goals they needed to win.

A hattrick from Marcus Thuram was enough to get the job done for Inter.

But the Nerazzurri needed all three of the Frenchman’s goals to take three points. They twice conceded.

As had been the case against Udinese, both the goals that Inter allowed were the result of carelessness.

First, the Nerazzurri switched off immediately after they’d scored their second. The Nerazzurri backline was a mess as they allowed striker Duvan Zapata to equalize right after Torino had restarted play.

Then, Inter conceded a penalty late on. This was the result of a late challenge by Hakan Calhanoglu on Adam Masina, but also of the entire Inter team shape allowing the Torino defender to run straight through them,

Inzaghi: “Inter Paying The Price For Every Error” After Torino Win

Inter coach Inzaghi noted that “Since the derby the guys have played three matches in a week.”

“And we’ve always won deservedly,” he said. “Despite the pitfalls.”

“However, there are still some aspects we have to improve in.”

“At the moment we’re paying a heavy price for everything,” Inzaghi said.

“We have to work hard without letting our guard down. Even after the match against Red Star, we reviewed some details that we had to iron out.”

“Today it shouldn’t have ended 3-2,” Inzaghi said.

“Torino never gave up. Even with ten men.”

“But given the importance of the win, I have to congratulate the guys,” Inzaghi said. “We keep working on improving as a team.”

“At the moment we’re paying for every error or switch-off.”

Meanwhile, Inzaghi explained why Alessandro Bastoni, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all started in each of Inter’s last three matches.

“I thought they could handle three matches in a week,” he said.

“We’re growing, and everyone gives me tough choices to make because they all train well.”
