Marcus Thuram has received praise for his hattrick heroics in Inter Milan’s win over Torino.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, give the Frenchman a score of 8/10 in the player ratings. They also hail Henrikh Mkhitayran, Alessandro Bastoni, and Francesco Acerbi’s displays.

Inter needed a hero in yesterday evening’s match against Torino.

And it was Thuram who very decisively stepped up for the Nerazzurri.

It was an eventful match for the 27-year-old. First, he was on the receiving end of a horror tackle by Torino defender Guillermo Maripan which saw the Chilean rightly sent off.

That was the source of plenty of discomfort for Thuram. And he eventually asked to come off.

But that did not prevent the French international from deciding the match.

Thuram scored his first goal of yesterday’s match just a few minutes after Maripan had driven his studs into the Inter striker’s ankle.

The Frenchman showed his goalscoring instincts to meet an Alessandro Bastoni cross from the left, placing his header perfectly.

Then, it was defender Francesco Acerbi who provided the cross for Thuram’s second.

Once again, the former Borussia Monchengladbach striker showed how much of an aerial threat he is becoming.

And then in the second half, Thuram was the fastest to react after Lautaro Martinez had a header of his own saved by Granata keeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

The Gazzetta give Thuram a very high score of 8/10 for his performance yesterday.

And the newspaper also give very high grades of 7/10 to Bastoni and Acerbi, who assisted the first two goals from the Frenchman.

Both were also solid defensively. Acerbi largely won his battle with Torino striker Duvan Zapata.

Then, the Gazzetta give a 7/10 score to former Arsenal and Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan for his performance.

The Armenian kept Inter ticking over in the midfield battle with a polished, tactically intelligent display.
