Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi is uncomfortable about Marcus Thuram linking up with France for October’s fixtures due to his injury scare.

During his recent interview with Corriere dello Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, Inzaghi revealed his concern about the star striker’s fitness condition.

Marcus Thuram stole the spotlight as Inter squeaked past 10-man Torino 3-2 last Saturday.

However, he injured himself in the process.

The 27-year-old fell victim to Guillermo Maripan’s horror tackle from behind.

Indeed, the Chilean center-back mistimed his challenge, hurting Thuram’s ankle, which earned him a straight red card.

Unfazed by the knock, the former Borussia Monchengladbach ace bagged a game-winning hat-trick.

Meanwhile, seemingly preoccupied with the incident, Inzaghi subbed off his most lethal forward just after the hour mark.

Thuram went further scans the following morning to determine the extent of the injury.

Luckily for Inter, tests showed no damage to his right ankle.

Therefore, he passed fit to join Didier Deschamps’ squad for the UEFA Nations League games against Israel and Belgium.

Inter Milan Manager Simone Inzaghi Uncomfortable About Marcus Thuram Playing for France Amid Injury Scare

“There is a bit of apprehension, but he seems to be better,” Inzaghi admitted. “I spoke with our doctors, but now he will also be evaluated by the medical staff in France.

“The hope is that he can recover quickly.”

Players picking up injuries during international breaks has become a running theme.

With fixtures on club and international levels coming thick and fast, Inzaghi probably has a point.

Inter cannot afford to lose Thuram, considering his electrifying form at the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

He’s the joint-top goalscorer in Serie A with seven goals.

Moreover, he has become critical to Inzaghi’s tactics, shouldering the scoring burden amid Lautaro Martinez’s slow start.

Inter will desperately need their in-form star when they take on Roma on October 20.
