Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram could start for France in their Nations League clash with Belgium despite a slight injury scare.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter and France have both been keeping an eye on Thuram’s condition over the last few days.
The Frenchman picked up a bit of an injury during Inter’s Serie A clash with Torino last weekend.
This was the result of a heavy challenge by Granata defender Guillermo Maripan. That tackle saw the Chilean receive a straight red card.
Maripan’s studs made contact with Thuram’s ankle, causing some pain for the Inter striker.
This certainly did not prevent Thuram from leaving his mark on the match. He scored a match-winning hattrick, with all three of his goals coming after Maripan’s challenge.
But during the second half, the Frenchman asked to be substituted off.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi confirmed that this was because of some pain that the player was continuing to feel after the challenge in the first half.

Inter’s medical staff had a look at Thuram after Saturday’s match.
Then, it was time for the 27-year-old to join up with the France squad for the international break. Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps decided to call him up.
The France medical staff also examined Thuram.
As with the Inter staff, they did not find that the striker had an injury despite feeling some discomfort.
However, Deschamps decided not to start Thuram in Thursday’s Nations League match against Israel.
The Inter striker also did not come off the bench.
But according to the Gazzetta, Thuram is training normally.
And in fact, the newspaper reports, there is every chance that the Frenchman will start against Belgium in his country’s second Nations League match of the international break.
