Henrikh Mkhitaryan feels that Inter Milan have a hard run of fixtures to come, but that they’re used to it and can win them.

The 35-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after this evening’s Serie A win over Roma.

Inter have made a winning return in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri managed to get a 1-0 victory away to Roma in their first match back from the international break.

It was certainly not an easy match. Inter had to do without two key players early on, with Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Acerbi both coming off with injuries in the first half.

And from there on, it was a very physical contest against a Giallorossi team who pushed Inter.

There were quite a few scrappy fouls that broke up play and slowed the tempo down.

Both Roma keeper Mile Svilar, and his Inter counterpart Yann Sommer made quite a few good saves.

But in the end, it was Inter captain Lautaro Martinez who was decisive. He scored right around the hour mark to give his team all three points.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: “Tough Matches On The Way, But Inter Are Used To That”

Inter cannot dwell on this evening’s victory, though, They will be in action again very soon.

The Nerazzurri face Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Then on Sunday it’s a massive match in the form of the Derby d’Italia against Juventus.

Serie A clashes with Empoli and Venezia follow. Then Inter have a massive match against Arsenal in the Champions League, before finally hosting Napoli in another huge Serie A match.

And all of this is in the space of three weeks before the next international break.

Of this evening’s match against Roma, Inter midfielder Mkhitaryan said that “It was important to win.”

“We help each other on the pitch and we always do our best to bring home the three points,” the Armenian continued.

Of the injuries to Calhanoglu and Acerbi, Mkhitaryan said that “I’m sorry to see it.”

“We lost two very important players.”

“I hope it’s nothing,” he said of the injuries.

“We have tough matches on the way,” Mkhitaryan continued. “But we’re used to that, and we showed it last season.”

“We’ll be ready mentally and physically to win those six matches.”
