Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi has offered his verdict on Sunday’s ‘costly’ 1-0 Serie A victory against Roma.

During his latest interview with Sky Sport and Inter TV, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri boss discussed a growing injury crisis at Giuseppe Meazza.

After losing Kristjan Asllani to a muscle problem during the international break, Inter suffered two more injury setbacks at the Stadio Olimpico.

Indeed, a thigh issue forced Hakan Calhanoglu off after only 12 minutes.

It didn’t take long before Francesco Acerbi required a substitution.

The veteran defender had to come off midway through the first half, surrendering his place to Stefaj de Vrij.

Despite losing two significant first-team stars, Inter eked out a precious win in the capital.

Talismanic captain Lautaro Martinez bagged a phenomenal half-volley in the second half to topple Roma.

However, the consequences of that victory could linger down the line.

With fixtures coming thick and fast, Simone Inzaghi has shared his thoughts about the ominous injury crisis.

Inter Milan Boss Simone Inzaghi Reflects On Exhausting Win Against Roma

Inter will face Swiss champions Young Boys in a routine-looking UEFA Champions League encounter on Wednesday.

But the Swiss giants ply their trade on artificial pitch, which could be a problem for the Nerazzurri.

“We came here specifically to train. Sunday was a demanding match, but I’m pleased with the players’ performance because we won against a strong team (Roma) on a difficult pitch,” Inzaghi said.

“It gave us good feelings.

“Tomorrow, we know we’re facing a team that won their last match, changed their coach, and will want to play their best possible Champions League game.

“Calhanoglu, Acerbi, Asllani, and Buchanan are not with us, but the others are.

“We’ll evaluate Zielinski, who participated in part of yesterday’s training, and I’ll make the most suitable choices for this game.”
