AC Milan and Inter Milan have made a significant decision regarding their future, confirming plans to build a new stadium in the San Siro area.
According to Il Sole 24, as reported by FCInterNews, the two Serie A titans have mapped out a plan to construct a state-of-the-art stadium on familiar territory.
This announcement marks a shift from alternative proposals in Rozzano and San Donato.
It also shuts down the previously considered renovation project by Webuild.
Indeed, the two clubs are on the cusp of presenting an expression of interest shortly. That will likely facilitate the continuation of the necessary procedures.
Per the same report, this new stadium project will retain elements of the iconic old San Siro.
It includes parts of the helical structure facing the trotting area, the Curva Sud, and a section of the stands.
The project’s chief intent is to preserve a piece of the stadium’s rich history.
In fact, numerous key figures attending the latest meeting only solidified this monumental decision.
Those include Milan’s Mayor Giuseppe Sala and representatives from both clubs, demonstrating a united front as they embark on this ambitious venture.

Furthermore, the meeting that took place on October 22 only strengthened the club’s will.
Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello led the Nerazzurri delegation, accompanied by Oaktree managers Alejandro Cano and Katherine Ralph.
Meanwhile, Milan President Paolo Scaroni and David Castelblanco from Redbird Capital Partners represented the Rossoneri.
Now, it becomes a game of patience.
Both clubs must sit and wait for the Revenue Agency to provide an estimate of the purchase price for the San Siro stadium and its surrounding areas.
It’s believed the answer should arrive in the first ten days of November.
