The agent of young midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro says that Inter Milan are closely following his progress on loan at Sampdoria.
Agent Cescenzo Cecere spoke to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb. He updated on Akinsanmiro’s season at the Blucerchiati, and suggested that the hope is that it isn’t too long before the Nigerian features for Inter.
19-year-old midfielder Akinsanmiro joined Sampdoria on loan during the summer transfer window.,
The purpose of this move was for the young midfielder to get regular playing time.
And in that respect, the loan move has been a successful one. Akinsanmiro has featured regularly in the Sampdoria starting eleven, even as there has been a lot of upheaval at the club.
Naturally, it’s a season where Akinsanmiro has had to grow a lot.
There is still a lot for the teenage midfielder to learn at this stage.
But Akinsanmiro has more than shown that he has the quality to make the step up into senior football. And he is also showing the maturity.
Agent Of Ebenezer Akinsanmiro: “Inter Are Following His Progress At Sampdoria”
Now the question is what comes next for Akinsanmiro.
Time is certainly on the Nigerian’s side. He can continue his growth at Sampdoria, and then consider his next step in the summer.
But the big question could be whether or not Akinsanmiro gets the chance to feature for Inter.
So far, the Nigerian has made one appearance for the Nerazzurri. He had a cameo appearance off the bench against Lecce in Serie A last summer.
That was a demonstration of the faith that Inter have in Akinsanmiro.
But a real run in the team will take a lot more.
Inter do have high hopes for Akinsanmiro. They beat the likes of Real Madrid and Benfica to the teenager’s signature.
And the Nerazzurri are watching Akinsanmiro’s performances at Sampdoria to see if he can really make good on that potential.
Akinsanmiro’s agent Cecere said that “He’s doing very well.”
“The team started out struggling at first,” he noted. “But with Andrea Sottil as coach they’re getting back.”
“Inter are following his progress,” Cecere said of Akinsanmiro. “We hope that he can play for the Nerazzurri soon.”
