Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco says the Nerazzurri are “focusing on Venezia” despite Arsenal and Napoli matches on the horizon.

The Italian international spoke to DAZN ahead of this evening’s Serie A clash, via FCInterNews. He gave his thoughts on his team’s start to the campaign and squad depth as well.

Inter take on Venezia this evening in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri will be hoping to build on the momentum of their victory over Empoli during the week.

Moreover, Inter could aim to take advantage of the first big slip-up by league leaders Napoli in several months. The Partenopei lost 0-3 against Atalanta at home this afternoon.

Three points would take Inter to within a point of Napoli.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri host the Partenopei next weekend. Therefore, if they are to beat Venezia this evening, they will have a golden opportunity to head into the international break at the top of the table.

Inter Wingback Dimarco: “Focusing On Venezia” Despite Arsenal & Napoli Clashes On The Way

Inter can hardly take three points for granted against Venezia, however.

The Lagunari have all the motivation in the world to try and get a shock result. They need every point they can get to haul themselves out the relegation places in the table.

Inter also have a match against Arsenal in the Champions League on the way.

They host the Gunners on Wednesday evening.

So there are plenty of potential distractions to preoccupy the Nerazzurri.

But Inter will have to take it one step at a time. There are three points on offer this evening, and they will certainly need to fight for them.

Inter wingback Dimarco made clear that “We know we’re up against an opponent with confidence and quality.”

“We have to play our game,” the 26-year-old stressed.

“We’ve had a good start to the season. We knew that it would be tough.”

“We’ll have to focus on playing our game tonight,” Dimarco added as far as the other big matches that Inter have on the way. “And then think of the other matches.”

And of Inter’s squad depth, Dimarco said that “Having a deep squad helps with rotation. Because you can’t always play at the same level.”
