Piotr Zielinski will start at the base of the midfield trio for Inter Milan in this evening’s Serie A match against Venezia.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They also report that Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will lead the line, and Nicolo Barella will start in midfield.

Inter take on Venezia in Serie A this evening.

This will be the Nerazzurri’s fifth match in just two weeks since the October international break.

And then there are two more to come before the November break. These will be massive ones against Arsenal in the Champions League and then league leaders Napoli.

Inter coach Inzaghi knows that three points are absolutely essential here.

Slipping up and failing to beat relegation-threatened Venezia would be a major blow for the Nerazzurri as they aim to reassert themselves against Napoli in the Serie A title race.

Piotr Zielinski To Start In Holding Midfield For Inter In Serie A Clash Vs Venezia

One of the big questions for Inzaghi concerns who will start at the base of the midfield trio.

Hakan Calhanoglu is back from injury. The Turk is typically first-choice in that role.

However, Calhanoglu is also just coming back from his thigh injury.

Moreover, the fact that Inter have two very important matches on the way could leave Inzaghi to keep Calhanoglu on the bench so that he stays relatively fresh.

Therefore, it should instead be Zielinski who starts in holding midfield, reports Sky.

He will anchor a midfield trio containing Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. As such, Davide Frattesi will settle for a place on the bench.

And then in attack, Sky reports, Inzaghi will not rotate.

That means that Inter captain Lautaro Martinez will start. As will France international Marcus Thuram.

In defense, meanwhile, it will be the trio of Benjamin Pavard, Stefan de Vrij, and Alessandro Bastoni.
