Henrikh Mkhitayran feels that having Hakan Calhanoglu back is a big boost for Inter Milan, and next weekend’s clash with Napoli “won’t be decisive.”

The Armenian spoke to Italian broadcaster RAI Sport, via FCInterNews, after yesterday’s 1-0 Serie A victory over Venezia.

Inter’s Serie A clash with Venezia yesterday evening was a night of mixed emotions for the Nerazzurri.

But in the end, Inter got it over the line. They took three points to draw within a point of Napoli in the Serie A table, even if it was a nervy match with some late drama.

Meanwhile, there was also a big return for Inter.

Midfielder Calhanoglu had missed Inter’s last three matches prior to yesterday’s Serie A clash.

The Turkish international had also had to come off just ten minutes into the team’s win over Roma last month.

Calhanoglu is a regular starter for Inter. And they will certainly welcome having him back ahead of big matches against the likes of Arsenal and Napoli.

Mkhitaryan Hails Calhanoglu Return, Says Inter Vs Napoli “Won’t Be Decisive”

Of the return of Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan said that “It makes a big difference.”

“He’s a fundamental player for us,” the former Roma and Arsenal veteran praised his teammate.

“We need everyone,” he added. “Because we’re all strong together, not just the players who start.”

“If we help each other, we can achieve our goals.”

Meanwhile, Mkhitaryan also looked ahead to next Sunday’s top of the table clash with Napoli.

“It won’t be a decisive match,” the 35-year-old argued. “There will be other matches to come.”

“But it will be important for us to win, for our confidence and so we can go into the international break with the wind in our sails.”

As far as this season’s tight title race, Mkhitaryan declared “That’s the beautify of a title race.”

“If we were well ahead of everyone, it’d be easier,” the Armenian added. “But the title race is balanced.”
