Behind the scenes, there has been something of a roller coaster at Inter in the last decade plus.

The Nerazzurri have had several changes in ownership. There have also been some significant financial issues, particularly exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

But in the last few years, Inter have started to find some stability.

This process was begun by previous owners Suning. The pandemic-era financial crisis really forced Suning to implement a much more financially disciplined model.

And then US fund Oaktree Capital took over Inter from Suning earlier this year. This followed the latter defaulting on a COVID-era loan.

It looks to be much of the same under Oaktree. The current owners are prioritizing financial discipline.
