Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino is treading the same path that Simone Inzaghi has been doing at Inter Milan.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
This evening, Fiorentina host Inter in Serie A.
The two sides are level on points heading into the match. They are certainly among the form teams in Serie A, and both contenders for the title at this point.
And both La VIola and the Nerazzurri owe a lot of their success to their respective coaches.
Fiorentina Coach Palladino Treading Same Path As Inzaghi At Inter
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is someone who worked his way to where he is very methodically.
The 48-year-old started his coaching career in the Lazio youth ranks. This eventually led to him taking over the senior Biancocelesti job from Stefano Pioli.
And Inzaghi shone across several years with Lazio.
That earned Inzaghi a move to Inter in 2021.
The former Lazio coach has since guided Inter to the Serie A title, two Coppa Italia trophies, and three Supercoppa Italiana wins, as well as a Champions League final appearance.
Meanwhile, Palladino also began his coaching career at youth team level.
The former Juventus and Parma striker started out with Monza’s Under-15 team.
And after working his way up the ranks, it was a dismissal of the Brianzoli head coach that earned him a shot as with Inzaghi at Lazio.
After Monza sacked Giovanni Stroppa, they let Palladino step up.
And Palladino kept the Brianzoli up in the 2022-23 season. Then once again during the 2023-24 campaign.
That saw Palladino earn a move to Fiorentina this summer.
After a rocky start to the campaign, the 40-year-old has the Tuscans absolutely flying in Serie A.
Palladino has yet to win any trophies as Inzaghi has. But looking at his trajectory to date, the sense is that it’s only a matter of time.
