Today’s Serie A clash between Fiorentina and Inter Milan was interrupted by a shock medical emergency to midfielder Edoardo Bove.

The 22-year-old collapsed on the pitch just after the fifteen-minute mark.

Both sets of players were visibly distraught after the incident.

Bove was taken to hospital to receive treatment. Reports indicate that he has regained consciousness.

As a result the match was postponed. The mood at the Stadio Artemio Franchi was solemn, but the news about Bove’s condition has been encouraging.

Inter striker Marcus Thuram gave a message of support to Bove on his Instagram account. He wrote, “Forza Edoardo. We’re all with you.”
