Inter Milan would struggle to sign Samuele Ricci or Morten Frendrup in midseason to replace Davide Frattesi.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

It now looks to be a matter of when rather than if Frattesi leaves Inter.

The 25-year-old is pushing for an exit. He wants more playing time somewhere else. And Roma are keen.

The Giallorossi are hoping to get a deal for Frattesi done as early as during the January transfer window.

But one of the biggest stumbling blocks would be Inter’s need to sign a replacement.

The Nerazzurri will hardly let Frattesi leave if they are unable to suitably replace him in the squad. Particularly considering recent midfield injuries.

Inter Face Difficulty Signing Ricci Or Frendrup To Replace Frattesi In Midseason

If Inter sell Frattesi next summer, then they can go about searching for a replacement.

There will be time in which to plan the next steps. And clubs willing to negotiate to sell suitable players.

But the January transfer window is a different story.

Inter would have to scramble to make a plan in just a couple weeks if they are to replace Frattesi this month.

And the Nerazzurri would likely face resistance no matter who they want to go after.

Torino’s Samuele Ricci and Genoa’s Morten Frendrup are two major targets that Inter have identified as capable of replacing Frattesi.

Both would likely be available next summer.

But neither Torino nor Genoa will want to sell key midfielders in January. That would have the potential to derail their own plans.
