A successful change of position for Piotr Zielinski could convince Inter Milan to alter their plans in the transfer market.
This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They note how the Nerazzurri could start to see the Pole as a long-term solution in holding midfield.
This season, 30-year-old Polish international Piotr Zielinski has really shown his versatility at Inter Milan.
The former Napoli midfielder has often featured in holding midfield.
Initially, this was more of an emergency solution than anything. However, like Hakan Calhanoglu before him, Zielinski has proven to have the right traits to really excel in the role.
Therefore, FCIN note, Inter are starting to consider whether that should be Zielinski’s position in the long term.
Piotr Zielinski Position Change Could Alter Inter Milan Transfer Plans
If Zielinski is to become a regular option in holding midfield, then that will become less of a priority position for Inter.
But on the other hand, the Nerazzurri would then look for a midfielder who can back up and eventually replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Zielinski has tended to play on the left of the midfield trio. On paper, it is his favoured position.
But if Inter see the Pole mainly as a holding midfielder, then they will look to sign a left-sided midfielder.
In the meantime, the futures of Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asllani hang in the balance.
And then there will also be the arrival of Petar Sucic. The Croat has shown himself to be playing either at the base of midfield, or in more of a box-to-box role.
