The rest of the season will be decisive in whether or not Inter Milan exercise a buyback clause on Bologna midfielder Giovanni Fabbian.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that the Nerazzurri can sign the 22-year-old back for €12 million.
Inter sold midfielder Giovanni Fabbian to Bologna in the summer of 2023.
And the Rossoblu signed the young midfielder on a permanent basis rather than just taking him on loan.
However, Inter were determined not to lose control of Fabbian’s future for good.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri put a buyback clause in the deal. They sold Fabbian for a fee of €4 million, but reached an agreement with Bologna that they can sign him back for €12 million.
And that clause becomes active this coming summer transfer window.
Rest Of Season Decisive For Whether Inter Milan Buy Back Giovanni Fabbian
According to the Gazzetta, as of yet Inter have not reached a decision on Fabbian.
There have certainly been some reasons for the Nerazzurri to sign the 22-year-old back.

Last season, Fabbian became a regular starter for Bologna under Thiago Motta. He played his role in the Emilian club’s surprise push for Champions League football.
However, this season Fabbian has not started as often under Vincenzo Italiano.
But this evening, the Gazzetta report, Giovanni Fabbian should get his opportunity in the starting eleven against Torino.
This is due to an injury to Jens Odgaard.
And Fabbian will certainly have the chance to impress. He will naturally be keen to stake his claim on a starting spot for the rest of the season.
And if Fabbian really finds his form over the remaining months of the campaign then Inter could certainly look to sign the 22-year-old back.
