Napoli and Inter Milan drew 1-1 in Serie A on Saturday evening.
It was an open first half, and one in which the Nerazzurri went in ahead at halftime. They did so through a spectacular free kick from Federico Dimarco.
However, the second half was very different.
Injuries to Federico Dimarco and Hakan Calhanoglu hindered Inter’s momentum. They dug in their heels and defended their lead against a very aggressive Napoli.
Inter came close to finishing the match with the win. However, substitute Phillip Billings grabbed the winner for Napoli late on.
Stats account Opta noted in a tweet that “Inter have scored a direct free kick goal in Serie A for the first time since 9th November 2022 against Bologna, also in that case netted by Federico #Dimarco. Specialty.”
