Stefan de Vrij is adamant Inter Milan will take the De Kuip field to beat Feyenoord in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
Speaking to Prime via FCInterNews, the veteran defender outlined Inter’s ambitions for tonight’s game in Rotterdam.
For Stefan de Vrij, it’ll be a special occasion.
Back to a familiar place, he will face his boyhood club in the Nerazzurri colors.
Despite Inter’s strong pre-match favoritism, Feyenoord will not go down without a fight.
Indeed, this is their first appearance in the Champions League Round of 16 in 50 years.
Furthermore, Robin Van Persie’s side eliminated AC Milan en route to this knockout stage.
Therefore, Simone Inzaghi and his lads must not take anything for granted.
De Vrij should know that of all people, considering his experience at De Kuip.
Stefan de Vrij Admits Inter Milan Only Care About Winning Vs Feyenoord
Tonight’s match will be more than just a game of football for De Vrij.
“It’s special for me to come back here,” he admitted.

“I did the youth sector next to the stadium. Every day after training I would walk here dreaming of playing for Feyenoord.
“I succeeded, and now I’m returning as an opponent, which is something special for me.”
However, he will have no mercy for his former club as he bids to win the Champions League with Inter.
“I’m very happy with this game, with this draw for us,” De Vrij insisted.
“We’ve done very well so far in the Champions League, conceding only one goal. We came here to win and play a great match.”
De Vrij will start at the back this evening, flanked by Francesco Acerbi and Benjamin Pavard.
Meanwhile, Alessandro Bastoni will switch to the wing to cover for the injured Federico Dimarco.
