Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram has received a call-up for the France national team over the break.
The 27-year-old is in the 24-player squad list that Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps has called up. This despite some fitness problems over the last few weeks.
Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram has not necessarily been in top physical condition in recent weeks.
The issue for the Frenchman has been a persistent ankle problem.
Thuram missed a couple of matches after taking a blow to the ankle in a Serie A match against Fiorentina in February.
And then even when Thuram was able to return to the pitch, there was a sense that he was lacking sharpness due to the injuries.
Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi acknowledged that the former Borussia Monchengladbach striker was playing with painkillers.

Inter Striker Marcus Thuram In France Squad Despite Injury Woes
Inter Milan would perhaps prefer to have Marcus Thuram stay behind during the international break.
Considering the Frenchmanβs recent injury issues, he could certainly use the time to shake off any lingering knock.

However, Thuram is fully fit. The 27-year-old did look somewhere close to his best in Interβs recent Champions League win over Feyenoord.
And this was evidently enough to coach France coach Dider Deschamps.
The Les Bleus boss has named Marcus Thuram among the France squad for Nations League matches during the break.
Meanwhile, Inter defender Benjamin Pavard is also in the squad for France.
