Cristian Chivu will make a decision on the futures of Francesco Pio Esposito and Aleksandar Stankovic at Inter Milan this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that one of the two teenagers could remain at Inter at least until January.
One thing that Inter have clearly signalled is that under Cristian Chivu, their project will focus more on youth.
The Romanian had been Nerazzurri youth team coach for several years, and at several levels.
Therefore, Chivu has seen some of the top talents from Inter’s academy up close.
Chivu To Decide On Inter Futures Of Pio Esposito & Stankovic

According to the Corriere dello Sport, there are two young players in particular who Chivu is watching closely.
Teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito made his first ever first-team appearance for Inter yesterday. The 19-year-old came off the bench against Urawa Red Diamonds.
After an explosive season of growth on loan at Spezia, Pio Esposito has certainly been tipped to make a big impact min Serie A. Whether that is at Inter or elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Aleksandar Stankovic had an excellent loan season of his own. The 19-year-old was at Luzern in Swizerland.
Luzern signed Stankovic on a permanent basis at the end of that loan. However, the club’s Sporting Director confirmed that Inter exercised a buyback clause.
Now, Cristian Chivu will have to decide whether he sees Pio Esposito or Stankovic playing any part as early as next season.
As the Corriere note, it is not out of the question. Particularly considering that, as academy graduates, these youngsters could provide flexibility in Inter’s Champions League squad.
Accordingly, the newspaper anticipate, there is a possibility Chivu could decide to keep either Pio Esposito or Stankovic in the squad.
Then, the coach and club could make a reassessment in the January transfer window.
Coming to history of this squad right now, the only player that i only believe to have such mentality to break from youngsters into first team is lautaro. Maybe be a key player in a big club before inter helping him alot. The rest, esp those who religiously came from serie a, still haven’t met the expectations when they jumped to senior squad. Asllani? He wasted his growing time only to be a back up. Best right now i think is loaning youngsters until they really get the stability, maybe like bastoni’s type of loan.
Are you happy guys???? For years you guys crying and praying to see some primavera kids… You got 3 of them yesterday
Keep Esposito, Carboni and slowly integrate them to be a starter. Not sure if Stankovic will get much playing time if Inter buys a quality midfielder like Ederson so id say sell him with a buyback.
Unless Asslani and Hakan are sold.
