A former coach of incoming Inter Milan signing Ange-Yoan Bonny says that the striker is “similar to Marcus Thuram.”
Sebastien Dubroca, who worked with Bonny at youth level at Chatearoux, spoke to Italian outlet FCInterNews about the Frenchman.
Inter Milan look to be on the verge of completing a deal to sign striker Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma.
The Nerazzurri have been targeting the Frenchman for some time. He really caught their eye – along with several other clubs in Serie A – with his first season in the top flight.
Then, the arrival of Cristian Chivu as coach really firmed up Inter’s interest in Bonny’s signature.
The 44-year-old had worked with Bonny over the second half of last season. He got to know the player’s strengths well – and that has convinced him to push for the move.
Former Coach Of Ange-Yoan Bonny: “He’s Similar To Marcus Thuram”

Ange-Yoan Bonny had come through the youth ranks of Frnech club Chatearoux. He joined Parma from that club in 2021.
And youth team coach Sebastien Dubroca had a chance to work with Bonny.
Dubroca commented that Parma “has a wide range of skills.”
“He combines a technical side with athleticism. That allows his teammates to play alongside him right away.”
“Since the age of sixteen, a lot of top European clubs have followed him,” the coach noted of Bonny.
“And his decision to join Parma has allowed him to move up step by step, in a linear way.”
“It doesn’t surprise me that, with his potential and the strength of his character, a top like Inter are courting him,” said Dubroca.
“He’s always been ambitious. He’s given himself the means to reach the next level.”
The former coach then said that “it’s possible to argue that he has similar characteristics to Marcus Thuram.”
“We can only hope that he follows in the footsteps of his compatriot,” Dubroca added.
I am not sure he is the right player for Inter especially with that kind of amount. Their must be better players in the market.
I agree. Last season at Parma he made a goal scoring contribution every 422 minutes. With 35 appearances and only 6 goals and 3 assists, $25 million is way to much. He won’t get that kind of playing time at Inter.
In comparison, Correa played 19 games, had 2 goals and 2 assists. He had a goal scoring contribution every 180 minutes.
You are comparing a team like Parma to Inter, Correa had all the right people beside him, and still scored only 2, it means ange did better
Correa’s xG also was around 2 goals, while Bonny was 3 goals under his xG. Assuming he will be a like-for-like sub when Thuram needs some rest.
Good to see you back!
