Inter Milan target Ademola Lookman has reportedly turned down a contract offer from Atalanta as he wants to join the San Siro club.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Ivan Juric’s men made a last-ditch attempt to change the Nigerian’s mind.

Indeed, Atalanta tried to convince Ademola Lookman to stay at the Gewiss Stadium, but to no avail.

Despite matching Inter’s contract proposal, La Dea’s effort fell flat as the 27-year-old aims to force his move to San Siro.

Buoyed by Lookman’s recent actions, Inter will soon table an improved offer for the versatile forward.

Indeed, the Serie A runners-up are ready to lift their opening bid.

Atalanta rejected a €40 million offer, as they continue to insist on their €50 million asking price.

However, the player’s wish to join Inter makes the Nerazzurri believe they could close the deal on favorable terms.

Therefore, Inter will soon submit a new proposal worth around €43 million.

Furthermore, they are now keen to make an outright purchase. Indeed, they’re no longer looking to Lookman on loan with an obligation to buy.
