Inter Milan misfit Tomas Palacios could soon leave Serie A to join Swiss Super League heavyweights Basel on loan.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the reigning Swiss champions are close to signing the defender.
Tomas Palacios swapped Independiente Rivadavia for San Siro last summer for a reported fee of €6.5 million.
However, a lack of first-team opportunities saw the Argentine starlet make only ten minutes of top-flight action at Inter.
Therefore, he left the club to join Monza on a short-term loan in January.
Inter Milan Flop Tomas Palacios Close to Joining Basel on Loan

Finding regular action at the Brianteo proved equally challenging as Palacios made two league starts for Monza.
With the Biancorossi losing their top-flight status, the 22-year-old had to return to Inter at the end of last season.
However, the Serie A runners-up are keen to offload him by the end of the summer.
Though Inter would ideally sell their flop, another loan exit looks more likely.
Indeed, Basel are reportedly one step away from signing the youngster.
I think the lad was treated the worst way possible. First when scouted he was judged to be a player worthy of Inter jersey then he hasn’t given a single chance! Poor kid couldn’t handle that mentaly when loaned to Monza and now we are desperate to get rid of him. not a single chance and treated like deadwood, that’s how to break a kid’s career and waste time and money. Buchanan was another case of youth mistreatment. You cannot call this kind of behavior “Youth development project”!
he have a chance, but he blew it. unlike bisscek who show promising display when he gave a chance.
What chance did he blew?
Bismarck was given consistent minutes and despite his costly mistakes once in a while, we endured and kept him.
Palacios played only one match in Inter colours and it was towards the end of that match.
In the friendly against the U-23, he did well but it seems Inter are hell bent on selling him on.
