Serie A runners-up Inter Milan remain firmly in the race to sign Udinese center-back Oumar Solet despite rape allegations.

According to FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri could soon accelerate talks with the Friulians over the French defender.

Oumar Solet has been on Inter’s shortlist since January, but negotiations with Udinese have never taken off.

However, the clubs could soon open discussions over the 25-year-old’s transfer to Giuseppe Meazza.

Indeed, Cristian Chivu is eager to add to his defensive options, with Solet emerging as a concrete target.

A similar situation deterred Inter from concretizing their interest in Icelandic forward Albert Gudmundsson.

As a result, the versatile forward ended up joining Fiorentina from Genoa.

Yet, Chivu’s men are reluctant to repeat the same mistake this summer.

Therefore, they could soon lodge an official offer for Solet, who favors a move to Giuseppe Meazza.

On the other hand, Udinese coach Kosta Runjaic views the former RB Salzburg man as a crucial first-team member.
