Inter Milan lost another high-profile clash on Tuesday, slumping to a late 1-0 home defeat to an out-of-form Liverpool side.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri’s latest slump maintained a concerning trend under Cristian Chivu.
Felix Zwayer helped Liverpool edge the San Siro giants in an intense Champions League clash two days ago.
Despite the German referee’s mistake, Inter’s overall performance failed to impress.
Indeed, Chivu’s side generated a dismal 0.43 xG, attempting just two shots on target.
Inter Milan Must Improve in Big Matches

Inter’s loss to Liverpool marked their fifth defeat in six matches against elite teams this season.
Before that, the Nerazzurri had lost to Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli, conceding at least twice in three of those games.
Furthermore, Inter’s free-scoring attack underperformed on almost every occasion, only scoring more than once in Turin.
The only exception was a hard-fought 1-0 win over Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in mid-October.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri must find a cure for their underwhelming showings in these high-stakes showdowns.

It’s simple against big teams Inter play with fear and just not attack hoping to get a draw. Against Liverpool it was so obvious Chivu was desperate for a draw…. He doesn’t have the players to defend and he’s not defensive coach like Conte, Mou, Allegri or Simeone so why defend and pretend he’ll get a result. Just attack and try to win the match against big teams it’s not about tactics but rather the desire to win Liverpool won even tho they were disjointed and in a crisis but Inter under Chivu they were actually too scared to lose. CHIVU has a weak small team mindset and it’s up to him to change the team direction otherwise soon even against small teams results won’t start coming along because FEAR is infectious and his tendency to reward stupid behaviours will be his downfall. Baston made a mistake bench him, Henrique can’t pass forward bench him, Thuram too causal when the team needs a goal bench him. A player doesn’t fit the system then don’t use them
I tend to agree, but it’s not all about Chivu. As seen against Liverpool, but in other games as well, we clearly lack fast paced dribblers, Lookman type players, those who can dribble past their men, can cut into an open space, create chances, pose a threat against opponents all the time. We don’t have those types of players, Also we don’t physically strong midfielder who would be in command in front of the defense, intercept opponent’s attacks etc. Defense is a strory in itself, a 37 year old CB as a starter and a veteran goal keeper clearly in decline without a proper substitution. The team has been horribly downgraded by the foolish transfer policy of the ownership and backed by the management, so here is the result.
What cure? Stop fooling the fans. How stupid Marotta can be for hiring an inexperience coach when Ausilio had De Zerbi in the bag? In a World cup year Inter cant win the champions league nor serie a and as a result no ballon dor. Marotta have failed time and time again and its about time he leaves the club. Another year wasted because of Marotta stupid decisions. He is not this expert everyone tends to feel he is. Florentino Perez is a good example of a great president Alonso is already on the chopping block and he havent lost as much games as Chivu. Business is business and the way Marotta runs a club is not the right way. Marotta is failure and should take responsibility for Chivu’s failures and leave the club.
