Inter Milan youngster Francesco Pio Esposito could soon overtake star striker Marcus Thuram in the pecking order.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Frenchman’s dip in form has derailed his first-team status.
Marcus Thuram has been the focal point of Inter’s attack since joining the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.
However, the 28-year-old has performed well below his standard this season, especially after a lengthy layoff due to injury.

Thuram has failed to score in five consecutive Champions League games after bagging a double against Ajax on the opening matchday.
Furthermore, he has only scored three goals in ten Serie A matches since returning from injury in November.
Therefore, the 28-year-old could drop to the bench, with Cristian Chivu expected to give Pio Esposito a more prominent role.
Indeed, the Italian prodigy might pair up with Lautaro Martinez in the final third against Pisa on Friday.
That could mark the beginning of a new era at San Siro, led by one of Italy’s brightest young prospects.

Both Thuram and Lautaro are seriously exhausted at the moment and out of form let Pio and Bonny play often, so that Thuram and Lautaro can rest and in midfield same with Barella, this Inter needs fresh legs and the defence too needs fixing.
We need Pi_Bo in fornt, no more Thu-La, give those guys a rest and play fresh blood.
He’s deserved it for a while now. Both Lautaro and Thuram (especially) are in terrible form. Now, it remains to be seen if Chivu’s apprentice will have the guts to do it. Benchmarking players with bigger names isn’t for just anyone.
Bonny should start instead.
It has been a while since I said Thuram was no longer serious up front. Not only him, we need to start thinking about Lautaro as well.
