Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu has decided to start Davide Frattesi and Yann Bisseck against Bodo/Glimt in the second leg of the 2025/2026 Champions League knockout playoff tie.
The official lineups for tonight’s Champions League match, which kicks off at 21.00 CET at San Siro, have been published.
Bodo/Glimt capitalized on the synthetic surface in last weekend’s first leg, defeating the Nerazzurri 3-1 at the Aspmyra Stadion.
Therefore, the runaway Serie A leaders have a mountain to climb here, looking to pull off their first Champions League knockout comeback in 15 years.

However, there’s plenty of reason for optimism around the San Siro camp.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu has received a major injury boost ahead of this clash, with Denzel Dumfries returning to the squad after a three-month absence.
Inter Milan Vs Bodo/Glimt – Chivu Backs Bisseck

Although he came under heavy scrutiny in the aftermath of the Derby d’Italia, Alessandro Bastoni has a guaranteed starting berth.
Furthermore, Yann Bisseck returns to the starting lineup after surrendering his place to Francesco Acerbi in the first leg.
Meanwhile, Manuel Akanji starts in the middle of Chivu’s traditional back three.
Therefore, veteran center-backs Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi start on the bench.

Meanwhile, Luis Henrique starts on the right wing at the expense of Matteo Darmian, with Denzel Dumfries expected to get some minutes off the bench.
On the opposite side, Federico Dimarco dislodges Carlos Augusto, who started in Norway.
Inter Milan vs Bodo/Glimt – Davide Frattesi Returns To Starting XI

Further changes take place in the middle of the park, where Piotr Zielinski takes Hakan Calhanoglu’s place after being rested in Norway.
Meanwhile, Nicolo Barella starts on the right side of Chivu’s midfield, with Davide Frattesi getting the nod ahead of Petar Sucic.
Indeed, the Italian midfielder makes his third consecutive start in all competitions despite his bleak performance against Lecce.
As for Sucic, his underwhelming displays in the last two games mean he’ll have to fight hard to regain Chivu’s trust.
Finally, Francesco Pio Esposito and Marcus Thuram lead the line in the absence of Lautaro Martinez.

Well done Atalanta.. The only serie a teams to have won in Europe in the last 16 years… Albeit the 2nd tier tournament… No surprises that they are the ones to progress… But I need a serie a team to win the UCL… That’s what matters to me…
If you don’t want to hear facts, simply pass over comment, i don’t want to be delusional like Arsenal fans who became a meme over saying that Saka is worlds best player, even better than Messi and Cristiano, like Niko here on this site is. Honestly i expected that Chivu led the team to quarter finals and finish there, am i disappointed? Yes. Have i right to be? Yes, his realistic objective were Round of 16 or quarter finals in CL, top 4 in Seria A and cups were optional for his first season. You can hate Inzaghi all you want, but he managed to get to 2 finals with a couple extremely great players and a lot mediocre players who wouldn’t be able to play in starting lineup in 90% of top clubs, with 0 help from management in bringing him adequate signings. For that, he had to drop the ball in Seria A. Opposite to him Chivu prioritized Seria A, same with no adequate signings who can impact first team immediately with even more older squad, Bonny and Pio needed a couple of months of starting games to get where they are today to replace Thuram. Sucic and Diouf showed that they have potential, managed to show that on multiple occasions, still there were games where they were totally ineffective, plus our management waited till last days to bring Diouf so he had to have 2 months of adjustment period. Akanji had solid games, last night was probably one of the worst in his career. And for our last signing Luis, what to say, almost 0 contribution at all, on most games invisible, only there to fill the quota of starting 11, completely inadequate signing for us if we want to compete in future for multiple trophies.
Hey there, a lot of dissapointment between the lines. Agree with some but I wouldn´t blame Chivu, he will be the future trainer for several years ahead.
Most Inter fans want the scudetto over other acievments. It,s difficult for italian teams to win CL and of course it was a great thing to reach two finals in three years but I donn´t think Inzaghi was the right man to develop Inter with new young players (otherwise I also liked him) Instead we now have a coach which will acomplish that in abetter way. Last but not least, tired of this bullying of Henrique, he has certainly improved and he has better ball control than many of the other players, rather fast moving the ball, good combinations and fast passing the ball. Still lacks precision in the final crossing but more and more times he surpasses the defender to be able to deliver. Probably needs a bit more selfconfidence
which will come. Diouf interesting characteristics and only 22 y, could develop to something worthy of a midfielder if he improve his difense.
Maybe Thuram should be on the market to earn what we lost in CL. Then of course a new attacker must be recruited, but not necessary expensive one, since both Pio and Bonny will be better next season.
Chivu is better than Inzaghi in question of our youth for sure, but i think we all expected more minutes for Topalovic, Cocchi, Kamate… Respect your opinion of Henrique, but in my simply as wb he doesn’t have what it takes to play for us. Maybe as pure winger he would be solid choice, but we don’t play with that formation, too bad for him, but better to leave earlier than to waste both his and our time as Frattesi did in most of his time with us. Frattesi did have his moments, but for that kind of transfer fee far too rare.
Stop with the hater bulls**t. People are disapointing losing to Bodö. What positive is there to say about that?
I will still watch week after week and critique when needed. This is a forum where we sharing feelings about our team.
Let some of us be disapointed. ✌️
Exactly… Do not mind these delusional fans… Last week they blamed the pitch… Let’s call a spade a spade.. Serie a is a WEAK LEAGUE…
Someone should tell me we just want to get out from the champions league so we focus on the scudetto.
Sad to watch, but we can see a clear pattern here.
I’m a bit curious about how long it takes before changes are made.
Well, that’s what I’ve been saying for years now, and I am called a hater, as well as many other insults I have received… One thing is for sure… FACTS DON’T LIE AND IT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT FEELINGS AND OPINIONS… and the fact is that INTER LOST AT HOME AND AWAY TO BODO GLIMT… LOL…
It is what it is, can’t change it now.
What would you say is the issue on why fundamental players like Thuram, Lauti and Barella do not perform?
Forza Inter!
