The long running saga between Henrique Dalbert and Inter now seems to be near the end. According to France Football, in fact, the player is now close to leaving Nice to become a Nerazzurro. The final sum of the is 30 million euros including bonuses. This is the fee that Nice have been holding out since the beginning.

Look, everybody wanted a left back.
We all wanted one.
We are getting a natural left footed, talented, fast left back.
We don’t know any of the details yet so ..shut it already.
aint his release clause only 25 or something?
Our same old problem, too much fuss.
Too much windows shopping.
hell no at this price.
I think all the Interista really need to be a bit more analytical about the situation instead of just trying to throw someone who is likely to be our starting left-back next season under the bus without even giving him a chance first.
I will be upfront and admit that when the Rodriguez rumors started in February/March I was really intrigued by the idea of him joining us over the summer and watched a few of Wolfburg’s games to scope him out. Wolfsburg typically played a 4-2-3-1 formation with Gerhardt playing as first choice DL (at least in the games I saw) and Rodriguez moved into the DC role due to a combination of injuries and Gerhardt’s form.
While Rodriguez undoubtedly is a great crosser of the ball and can pump the ball upfield with some regularity, he isn’t great at marking players, not the fastest guy on the field, can’t follow overlaps often completely losing quick footed wingers and wouldn’t be someone you put you money on when he goes flat out for the tackle. In a lot of ways his defensive frailties are akin to our own fullbacks, with the pluses obviously being his crossing and great knack for finding team mates with his long balls.
Wolfsburg had a terrible season so some of his form can be just down to playing for an out of formteam but if you watch some of their games from last season, Rodriguez really sticks out as a weak link in their back four and think that was primarily one of the reasons a lot of other teams lost interest in him.
In any case we couldn’t really compete with Milan for him as they wrapped up his signing during a period our hands were tied with FFP. Its possible that Fassone and Mirabelli went through their notes from their time with Inter to add his name to their shortlist but hey ’tis is the hand we were dealt’.
So yes he could well turn out to be a great signing for Milan but lets face it we weren’t in a positon to get him pre-July 1st, he isn’t the world beater everyone seems to be thinking he is based on one friendly appearance (or at least he hasn’t done anything from what I have seen and read that would set him apart as one) and I for one don’t think its all doom and gloom for Inter just because we missed out on R Rodriguez!
Now switching gears a bit to Dalbert who many people are already labeling as a disappointment/downgrade. Lets take a step back and look at his performance last year. He moved from one of the smaller Portuguese clubs (no offense intended to Vitoria Guimaraes) to Nice last year without much fanfare but then quickly became an integral part of the Nice team that for a period of time gave both PSG and Monaco a run for their money before beating all expectations to finish in a very respectable third place and qualifying for the CL.
Now some people may turn around and say that its just the Ligue 1 which can’t be compared to Europe’s other top leagues and for the most part this would be true. But PSG and Monaco aren’t no walk in the park and in particular last year had a strong run, with PSG destroying Barcelona in the first leg (before imploding themselves in the return leg) and Monaco reaching the CL finals no less.
So the question then becomes how Nice faired against these two teams? Pretty well actually, with Nice splitting honors with Monaca at 1 win a piece and actually getting the better of PSG (1 win and 1 draw). Dalbert made strong showings in all head to heads and kept the opposing team’s output on the right down to a minimum. No small feat considering the attacking talents in both sides.
Taking a closer look at Dalbert’s skill set while he can improve on his positioning and is perhaps a bit over zealous with his tackles, he is pretty great at winning the ball from his opponents plus his pace makes it hard for wingers to get past him or wrong foot him for a quick shot in the box (cue Nagatomo from the recent Schalke friendly). On the attacking front he still needs to do some work on his crossing but he is pretty easy on the eye with the ball at this feet and has explosive pace akin to some of the other more renowned Brazilian fullbacks of years gone past.
So how would he fit into Inter. There are basically two scenarios here (i) Perisic stays on the back of some divine intervention and (ii) the Perisic saga finally ends with his leaving for Man Utd and we get Keita to take his place on the left wing.
While the first scenario seems very unlikely at this stage, lets take a second to imagine how that would work in practice. We all love Perisic’s work rate and ability to track back to plug the holes that our leftbacks always seem to open for opposition wingers, wouldnt be great to give him a free reign on the offensive front so he has run havoc from the left wing with his crosses, crossovers and diagonal runs without worrying about tracking back all the time. Similarly, having the comfort that someone like Perisic is there to offer cover will also allow Dalbert to press the accelerator now and then with marauding runs down the left to cross it in the middle, pass it over to or play a few quick one twos with Perisic to open up space for the rest of the team in the final third.
Now lets switch gears to the more likely scenario where we lose Perisic and Keita (or someone with very similar characteristics) steps in to fill that void. Keita’s game for me at least revolves a lot around flair, pace, ball control and increasingly positioning. Having Keita and Dalbert both operating on the left wing would mean a quick transition from defense to attack with a persistent explosive pace down our left wing drawing out additional support from the opposition right thereby opening space for us in the center and right, and from time to time leaving us with moments of magic from the Keita-Dalbert one-two punch down the left side, with Icardi waiting in the middle for a cross or a through-ball.
Now finally addressing the cost of the transfer. Yes the rumored 20mn plus bonuses is definitely a huge amount to part with for someone with just one great year but given the market we are in comparable players such as Semedo and Cancelo carry similar price tags and despite the hype around them arent guarantees either. One could argue that Mendy is perhaps a guarantee but hey he did cost another 20mn or so. Plus I am pretty certain if we end up paying the extra 10mn in rumored bonuses Dalbert would’ve proved his worth and we won’t be too sad about parting with said sum.
Below is a brief comparison between last season’s statistics for Dalbert, Rodriguez, Mendy and Barreca (yes I rate him pretty highly) courtesy of whoscored.com which presents Dalbert in a pretty good light and reinforces my belief that he is definitely someone that has all the bearings of a great left back!

Just from the very first sentence:
WELL- SAID.
The facts and info are very interesting and enlightning too:
What do you know ..
Dalbert is a lot more offensively productive than Rodriguez..
So, what does all that little “lesson” have to do with the specifics of my post?
uhmmm.. maybe..nothing?
A bunch of people is STILL bringing up Rodriguez as the “would have been savior of Inter!” ..
In answer I brought up some facts to this constant ,endless whiners and Milan worshippers.
You don’t like it ?
Good ,but try to at least attach to my post one that has anything to do with mine.
I dont care if you dissed rodriguez, he is milan player…
What i dont like is you offending fellow interista with “anti inter” “milan worshipper”, etc..
You just an egoistic person who think whatever comes from your head is true and other opinions are wrong”..
If you told other people not to whine make sure yourself not a whine baby either.. Cause you whine just as much as other..
Whatever
LOL
Look:
Dalbert was not my absolute first option.
Between the realistic ones, for a similar price tag, I suggested Barreca for a long time.
And others before.
The 30m tag would seem a bit much,I agree,it’s a gamble for that kind of money(but we don’t really know about that yet, do we?
Gazzetta talks about 20m as a done deal, that would not be way too much for the current mercato).
On the other hand:
1)
Everybody here recognizes the fact that we desperately need ,probably more than any other role, a natural left full back…and that’s exactly what Dalbert is.
A natural,talented left back.
Unless someone here really wanted to keep naga…
Funny thing is that the same people offending the management and screaming now about “how idiotic and insane we are ” for getting Dalbert were screaming, using the same tones and wordings ,against the fact that :
“How come we are NOT getting a left full back yet!!! ” …until yesterday!
( Are you guys just plain insane or what?WTF?What’s your problem? what’s the point of whining forever about what didn’t happen a month ago ,now?)
..and now ,now that we are finally getting an interesting, natural LB..
.
The bottom line is:
No matter what ,this is their constant attitude , a radically negative, offensive attitude toward everything Inter does or does not do.
We know that by now.
2)
Dalbert has still many limitations ,tactical and technical ,but if he comes to Inter I will support him and fully believe in him.
And he has some clear limitations ,yes, but he also has some very, very outstanding and interesting qualities:
He is the fastest LB out there.
He has more speed, acceleration and stamina than anybody out there.
And as far as his ,limitations I know and I am sure that Spalletti will work on him and make him into a serious something.
The potential is all there.
Maicon came to us as an almost nobody ,kind of raw full back from the Ligue 1..
Maicon was not a nobody at all. He was already labelled as one of the future RB stars during his time at Cruzeiro, where he also earned call ups to the brazil NT.
He also played 2 years in lique one. Hardly as unexperienced.
Add to that, Maicon only cost around 5m, so it was a low risk transfer even if he had flopped.
Maicon, like Dalbert, was a young, raw talent, a young talent that nobody,no big clubs , except Mancini with Inter ,wanted to spend any money on( actually even less than Dalbert) and Maicon always ended the Ligue at a lower position than Nice.
So, I stand correct and the substance of my point remains perfectly intact
Ricardo Rodriguez, the Swiss guy from wolfsburg here ,all of a sudden and coincidentally since he joined AC Milan , has become the perfect mix of Brehme and Roberto Carlos, Maldini and Facchetti and even…I quote:
” The only possible solution to our problems”.
Let see:
The offensive left back of wolfsburg last season had 0( zero ) assists in the bundesliga.( and 0 goals)
His form was so bad that his spot in Switzerland starting XI was in doubt.( that’s Switzerland not Germany or Brasil).
Nobody wanted him period.
But, he joined milan and that’s good enough to make him into the best left back ever now, to the pack of crying, anti inter, howling wolves.
Out of topic but… I noticed you liking your own post numerous times. Are you so much full of yourself that you, not only like to offend those who don’t share your opinions, but also need some up votes to feel better ?
lol
The problem is not with the player but his price. 30m is a huge price for a player like him. He may turn put to be a gr8 player but if he fails then v would be the laughing stock of the world
still not official dude.. most likely it’s another media BS..^^
Gazzetta:
20 millions.
http://www.fcinternews.it/rassegna-stampa/gds-dalbert-costera-20-mln-piu-bonus-arrivera-252413
I was just going to post about this and another article I read that says 20mill+bonuses. Idk who “France Football” is but I trust the other sites.
Now ,Rodriguez .after going to Milan ,has become the perfect mix of Maldini, Brehme and Roberto Carlos.
But in reality he just came from a very, very poor season in Wolfsburg.
He literally sucked last season, and with 0 asissts and 0 goals by the way.
And that’s why NO-BO-DY wanted Rodriguez.
Certainly no big teams.
There was actually a little more interest in Dalbert from the big clubs than for Rodriguez.
But ..since he went to AC Milan and not to us…
LOL
Check your data once again mate, he had 2 goals and 3 assists last season
I am not going to particularly defend Ausilio but it is a fact that when Milan acquired Rodriguez we couldn’t spend any money, we had to sell 31 m. of clean profit.
You guys really don’t know that?
you never heard of it?
Really?
Anyway, Gazzetta this morning says it is not 30m but 20 m.
http://www.fcinternews.it/rassegna-stampa/gds-dalbert-costera-20-mln-piu-bonus-arrivera-252413
If I was part of the crying widows gang here ,the group for which everything, literally everything which occur in Inter is a disaster, with no exception and no matter what is it ,it is always going to be wrong….I would at least wait for the facts to come out first before they start crying at the moon…
LOL
I think what every body talking is about the price.. If dalbert is in the same price or even lower to rodriguez maybe no one will got trigerred .. Is this guy worth 30 mil or not? We still dont know, but Every one here said 30 mil is too much for this guy..Honestly speaking i never watch ligue one so i really dont know if this guy worth 30 mil or not.. Lol
30 m would look like a huge gamble, but I am laughing at the parade of crying ,dramatizing widows around here
It just their expressions of dissapointment and envious towards our older brother billan.. Just like when ur parents didnt give you the toys you wanted, but you see your brother got what he wants.. Some people will crying, another will angry, some will remain calm.. And if you angry to ur parents doesnt mean you don’t love them right?.. Same case here.. Everyone just express their dissapointment but their love is still for inter..So for me it just a different expressions of the dissapointment.. And i really hate when someone asked another interista to support another club just because they have different opinion abouut something..
Ah it became too long.. Lol
Well, that’s my point to them :
“Grow up already, whining spoiled children are tolerated only till they are 3 or 4 ,then they get really old soon”
My point is every people has their expressions and opinion towards inter.. You cannot say this one is true or that one is true.. Everyone can’t claim that this one is a real fan and another one is plastic fan so they better start support milan etc etc..
We are all inter fan but just have different reaction and that is cool for me.. Lol
And adult whining a lot too..lol
Becareful youre speaking with grown up person
ye really lol ;D very grown up. one of the only persons on this website constantly offending other people that dont share his opinion. those are the best. trying to tell others what they are when its actually their attitude…
Yesterday milanisti, now parade of widows, wow its very provocative. The way I look the problems is not the fans, but the management, but maybe youre the one that think inter runs by sound and profesional management. If that your opinion I respect that, but no need to stamp milanisti or parade of widows to your fellow interista. RESPECT!
Well, you constantly, deeply disrespect everything about the club you are technically supposed to support.
Nothing but disrespect.
So it’s a little late to call for respect.
As americans say:
” You can dish it out, but you can’t take it”
Also:
You reap EXACTLY what you sow.
I admit I disrespect the management, but not the club! there is a big different between disrespect the management and the club. Im supporting Inter to get back to the top, and it can only achieve by sound and profesional management, and I havent look that at today management, and I thinks many of the fans are also frustrated with the management.
I wonder why you offended fans who disagree with the management, are you part of the management? I gues you re not, so be cool, no need to be overwhelming
The chinese era doesn’t even start yet. They just arrive 1 year ago with so many people from previous regime (ausilio, mancini, fdb etc). Give them more time with their original idea and their trusted man (sabatini, spalleti) to show us what they can do, before we can start judging or even bashing today management.
I don’t care about the price, It’s not from my wallet, so why the fuck would I care, WHAT MATTERS IS THAT WE”RE SIGNING THE NEW ASHLEY COLE!
i will never forgive ausilio for not securing r. rodriguez. the best solution for our biggest problem. now we do shit like that
Who is Roberto Carlos?
Move on Andreas Brehme !
Forget Facchetti !
Because since he moved to AC Milan Rodriguez, a swiss guy from Wolfsburg became, from that exact instant, the only possible solution to all our problems.
Jesus…..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivez5gGNlr8
?
I know..it’s called English
Why we blame aussilio, he done a great job before sabatini came in, the only mistakes he made were buying kdog for 40m, extending midgetomo, and buying gabi, but the rest of his transfer were great buy murillo 8m, perisic 17m, brozo 8m, banega free, and dont forget he manage to get rid lots of our lords. Today although he is the sporting director, we know whos the man behind of inter mercato… Yes its sabatini, hes the one who actually responsible, aussilio now is just only a gun, and the man pull the trigger is sabatini
What about ansaldi, extending rano, extending granpalacio when he was finished, extending not Maicon like he was Maicon. Giving absurd salaries. Not even gonna talk about the great deals he missed… Aubam 13M, Dembele 25M, glick 12M… With dickhead, in year 2025 the team would still be under reconstruction.
Rano is the captain at that time, is hard not to extend his contract, and opapalacio extended only for 1 year, now he is out of contract, and ansaldi looks bad because all players play bad (even messi will look bad in inter last year)
Milan bought Rodriguez for 18m and Conti for 24 m. And we r paying Nice 30m for Dalbert. Hats off to our management
Here we go… panic button
If he’s bought for 30M and Rodriguez ends up having a better season than this guy, I hope dickhead Ausilio gets what he deserves finally, get fired !
I’m seriously praying that Dalbert doesn’t flop tho, cause we all know that means nagafuck back in the starting lineup at some point again, and then I’ll seriously loose it.
No this is bad don’t pay 30mill, hopefully it’s just a rumor. If it was a proven Serie A player I’d say 30mill is acceptable.
I don’t care if he’s expensive. I’d be bummed if he flops, but what really bothered me the most was watching us make the same damn mistake every year trusting Nagatomo and Dumbo and expecting a different result.
Pure stupidity. 30m for dalbert is insane. He should be sabatini kinda signing, but with 30m we ought to get more proven players. Not to mention Im quite skeptic about him. He seems not very bright in passing and intelligence. His trait is only speed but decent in attack and defence.
guys as hard as this is for me to say with the current team we have know we will most likely finish 6th place my opinion 1 JUVE 2 ROMA 3 NAPOLI 4 MILAN 5 LAZIO 6 INTER. our managment seems only interested in signing mediocre to average nobodys, what about renato sanches from bayern, loan him here for two years with option to buy, what about mascherano from barcalona for 30 mill, or garay. what about aurier and de sciglio, de sciglio is a very solid fullback. we need to fire thoir and ausillo as they do not want to bring any decent talent to improve this club.we dont need vidal or kroos or sanchez, but we need solid decent players to get to 4th place, and what the f you guys kept nagatomo, unbelievable
De sciglio going to juve
De Sciglio is a piece of total crap.
Barreca, for a similar price,20=30 m, may have been a pretty good choice.
I don’t want to be a pessimist, but it stinks a biggest flop on our mercato…
I’m not sure whether should laugh or cry..
Always paying top dollar when buying, and later sold for peanut yet again..
Praying this deal to be blessing in disguise
Hopefully
Between crying and laughing and then over-dramatizing there is always the option of waiting for the actual facts, the final numbers to come out :
Gazzetta today:
“Dalbert -Inter all agreed for 20 m+ bonuses “
20m would makes sense
30 million!!?? No i can not imagine that. If thats true nice just fucked ausilio. But better than nothing i guess. Finalize this deal and then get a rightback. Zappacosta or aurier ( prefer zappacosta )
fuck my life, for 30m he better be the left footed Maicon right away
Relaxe, If and I say IF this price it correct we still don’t know whether it´ll be 15 mil payed in 2 years time f.x with 15 mil in different kinds of bonuses, his 1 national game, when we win something/qualify for Cl etc….
Hello.
It’s not done.
Gazzetta says 20m.
http://www.fcinternews.it/rassegna-stampa/gds-dalbert-costera-20-mln-piu-bonus-arrivera-252413
30 mil seems cheap for a fb I mean look at Kyle walker n danilo the premier league has forever changed the transfer market OK players start at 20 mil good players at 35-40
Originally nice wanted 15, but inter only wanted to pay 8+ players included.
Then more interest was shown from other clubs and Nice raised their asking price, inter then didn’t want to pay more than 15 suddenly, then getting more desperate and raised offer to 20….. then in the end they end up paying 30 lol, what a bunch of amateurs, embarrassing management.
Our management now days have been so bad. Always missing our targets and overpaying last minute.
Watch out bro, the fan police is here. When you criticize the obvious too much, they might call you a milanista and a fake fan lol. Shhhh
Yeah, they call us bilanisti just because critize stupid management
You know..they are so stupid that each one of them makes a lot more money than all of you constantly crying widows combined.
ahahahah
Look whos talking “a grown up person”, congrats for ur grown up status mate
he somehow sounds like missubranca. somebody pls check his ip 😉
..the crying widows parade has started..
It’s on officer… Did you bring your fan-o-meter ?
Yes he did, and he also bring a trusted source of news in his hand so each time there is false news he will clarify us
I guess waiting for the actual numbers to come out before making a final judgement would be too sane for you bunch of psycho professional whiners.
And you cannot stand for our comments and called us parade of widows and now psycho proffesional whinners, looks like you are a grown up person
Lol
Good stuff.
They are the ones who criticize the team’s football team telling you that you miss another month, then criticize you at the end of the game and tell you that you have to see in the field, then after the season has started the team goes wrong and they tell you that you have to see End championship, then the championship finishes tell you that we will see next year ….
I think they passed on Rodriguez cuz they thought they could land Dalbert for a cheaper price, but now they’re stuck and have no more choice other than paying full price since Nice refuse to sell.
Its 20 still
lmao lol dumb asses
With 30M why we not sign him at first july…
Good question!
Player worth 15M bought for 30M.. Ausilio should be fired immediately. And Rodriguez was bought by Milan for 18M. We’re insane club.
and rodriguez even has more experience… playing EM on world class level etc plus he wanted to come to inter first.
its unbelievable we sign a noname instead for double the money… we are nowadays the only club who does such stuff…. somehow a campaign has to be started to end this misery…
we r about to sign dagobert for 30 mil i cant believe it
I don’t understand how Dalbert is 30M while Aurier is 20-25M. Anyone seriously thinks Dalbert > Aurier? If Aurier can indeed be purchased for 20-25M, shouldn’t we get him first?
Players don’t have objective price tags, they are “worth” as much as the seller is willing to sell for, then it’s up to the buyer to accept or not.
In this case inter are desperate and stupid (nothing new there) and are willing to pay Nice price. No doubt Nice could tell that inter would eventually cave and accept their price, a better management could no doubt have bargained the price, but we all know inter are famous for being terrible negotiating and getting the short end of the stick about 90% of the time. This is just yet another one of those times.
just media bullshit.. i’ll wait for the official news..
this is just media BS ..they know nothing about our transfer..wait for the official
Damn, that seems like an absurd price…I was hoping like for €20m at best.
Ausilio really works very slow compare to other directors. It’s almost August and we haven’t even fix our fullback problem. When the new players arrive late and miss the pre-season program, they will need more time to adapt.
not just slow. even working for other clubs. he started negotiations with rodriguez when real madrid and psg actually already stepped back from him afaik becoz they became unsure since he was playing CB constantly in wolfsburg coz of their problems…. an insane chance to get a top fullback for nice price.
but all he actually did was givin milan a good idea for a nice FB signing… in the end he just prepared the deal imo… unbelievable stuff again.
wonder why no one esle wants this guy, and btw i watched ricardo Rodriquez vs bayern and wow he was exactly what we needed fast smart with nice passing why did we decide to not sign him, total stupidity, i remember we had the first refusal on hazard and david silva aswell as juan mata, i dont even know what to say again, inter left me speechless again
Wonder why no one else want r.rodriguez except Bilan. Bilan left me speechless again
Only inter wants him for that insane fee
Not only Klopp, City also want him and other teams too.
City just spend like 50M on Mendy, so no they don’t want Dalbert. And Liverpool also bought a leftback: Andrew Robertson.
Before Dalbert said he only wants Inter they were interested.
At the end of this mercato the milan geniuses will have spent like 300m.
More than any other club in history !
..and they will still suck.
And then?
And then the dream will really be over.
No more cash, only huge debts.
I almost feel sorry for them ,I swear.
All of England wanted him but he only wants us!
I don’t think thats true.. City just spend like 50M on Mendy, so no they don’t want Dalbert. And Liverpool also bought a leftback: Andrew Robertson. + Arsenal got the Sead Kolasinac guy on a free transfer. I think its just us that are after him, but somehow we managed to fuck up the price up badly.
City had they offer refused right? Hope Balbert comes, he seems to be an interesting player
I think there were news about a 52M pound deal that was struck for Mendy, but not 100% sure if that is confirmed information. That kind of money sounds like an offer that Monaco couldn’t refuse to me.
But yeah, if Dalbert comes I hope he delivers and plays well. He does have the potential to develop.
I hear city will spend more 90 M to mendy and danillo… yes they beat chelsea for danillo… that’s why conte want bring candreva to roman squad
They already bought Kyle Walker from Spurs with a price tag of +50M pounds. Making him the worlds most expensive defender. So they will probably spend a total of 100-110M pounds to Mendy and Walker. I don’t see them buying Danilo after these players arrive.
danilo already joined mancity for 26 m
Oh yeah, completely missed that transfer. Guardiola seems to collect fullbacks now.
guardiola collect everything that can run after missing alves to PSG. it’s crazy Mendy, Kyle Walker, Danilo they are sum up to 140 M Pounds. but he just missing yogatomo, hope he notice it.
RR crossing was great, I regret why we don’t go for him.
I remember speaking here how we are going to regret not signing R.Rodriguez for the low sum. And yet some people here were saying that he is overrated.. Milan really got a class defender with a deadly left foot for a really ridiculous price at todays market.
I guess he is pretty good but 0 goals 0 assists in bundes last season seem to indicate he is not exactly the perfect mix of Brehme and Roberto Carlos.
It’s mainly bexause he is forced to play cb last season
…part of the season.
