Steven Zhang spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport in Inter’s mercato: “Regardless of the results in pre-season tournaments we want to strengthen our team. People who aren’t on board with our project are better off leaving the club, those who really believe in it are welcome.”
Zhang then gave his viewpoint on “big name signings” and how the new signings have entered: “In terms of big names, I’m aware of the pressures of the transfer market and what has happened in the past few months, but it doesn’t matter how long we take and the names being roared, what matters is that our sporting executives and our Coach [Luciano Spalletti] find the right profiles. Buying big names doesn’t mean you’re buying the right names for Inter, a great name is one who works with the human and tactical project. Those who have come in so far have entered into the squad perfectly, they’re happy to be part of Inter. Regardless of the name. When you come to Inter, your heart, your blood, and your skin must be Nerazzurro. And when you go out onto the pitch, you don’t just have your name but the history of Inter.”
Zhang then confirmed that Inter were not finished dealing on the market: “Obviously we’ll reinforce the team further, there’s still a month until the end of the transfer window. For names and technical questions, ask Spalletti, Ausilio and Sabatini. Inter’s mercato definitely isn’t over here.”
Zhang concluded speaking very highly of Luciano Spalletti: “Having spent so much time with him and having listened to what people inside and outside the club, I understand he’s a great professional who invests so much time in every aspect of the game. He’s completely focused on his work. What matters is not whether I’m happy, but that he’s Inter Coach and we’ll support him from the first day to the last, any time and for any thing. He really deserves this support, and I think every component of the club understands that. I want him to feel that we’re close to him every day, especially when the official season begins.”

But will it be players that can actually help Inter make the jump to realistically challenge for that important 4th place?
And as an interista, I never doubt of even winning the league. Because I am a black and blue.. #forzainter
i agree we are always either linked to average players or players who are top class that are just simply not going to come. What about william carvahlo and danilo pereira, those are two very good midfielders that just arent mentioned alot kovacic, matudi, witsel ect should be players we should looking at…..not friken verratti and vidal, also we will not finish top 4 with nagashit and dumbo , fullbacks, dalbert and aurier we should of gotten de sciglio when bbilan bought rodriguez. we should sell medel brozovic, rano, naga, biabiany and candreva.
This line… “When you come to Inter, your heart, your blood, and your skin must be
Nerazzurro. And when you go out onto the pitch, you don’t just have your
name but the history of Inter.”… is exactly what I expect of our team. No more words needed.
“Regardless of the results in pre-season tournaments we want to strengthen our team. People who aren’t on board with our project are better off leaving the club, those who really believe in it are welcome.” like this..
I agree what with he said, look at Rube’s during Conte’s era. They bought names that not famous but able to pave their way to consecutive sucudetto.
Rube brought in several great players in Contes time there.
Vidal was already a very good player and well known. Pogba was a super talent. Pirlo and Tevez were world class players etc etc. 4 players who were very instrumental to Contes succes in those years, so lets not pretend that he just turned a bunch of nobodies into a world class team, because thats far from the truth.
Conte was fortunate in time his time at Rube though, because serie a was in one of its weakests periods ever from from 2011-2015.
Vidal was good, but not well known back there. We people did not watching Bundesliga especially Bayer Leverkusen right?
Pogba, Bonucci, etc also, nobody knows them except the one who plays Football Manager.
Can you name other than those two?
Many big signings from Rube was a flop on that period, Matri, Vucinic, Isla, etc, we could make this a long list.
So @leputa:disqus is in line with current situation.
Just because you didnt know them, doesnt mean they werent well known. Everyone knew Vidal and Pogba before they moved to Rube.
And he/she is not really in line with anything, since as i wrote, serie a was in an incredibly weak state in those years which greatly contributed to Rubentus dominance.
It was the defensive backbone + Marchisio that existed before conte, a long with those 4 signings i mentioned that was the foundation for the scudettos.
tbh i never heard about vidal and pogba before they joined juve
Pogba was greatly linked with Inter for the entire season before he ended up at Rube…
So actually Inter fans in particular should have known about him lol.
first i heard about him when raiola offered him to moratti and directly after that signed for juve but during the season i never actually heard about him
The fact that Rube got him for free speaks itself. I personally didn’t know him at that time. As an Inter fan, I always getting excited with young talents from south america and not someone from EPL. But that’s me.
I might didn’t really care about the news about him at that time as well as don’t really care that ‘Karamoh’ guy and some young guys linked to us.
Only reason I knew anything about Pogba back then was SAF bashing Raiola and vice versa over him leavingMan Utd in 2012. And that only because I’m English and follow EPL
True.. I even didn’t know about Pogba. Yes, he was a young talented, but it doesn’t mean he was well known. The fact that Rube got him for free speaks itself.
Conte’s 1st season starting xi was something like
Vucinic – Quagliarella (Matri)
can’t remember the LWB – Marchisio – Pirlo – Vidal – Lichsteiner
Bonnucci- Barzagli – Chiellini
Buffon
The only players who could be considered world class in September 2011 were Buffon and Pirlo. Signing Vidal ahead of Bayern was a coup but he was not world class yet. It’s easy now to forget what an absolute non-entity Juve were in the 2010-11 season and I think Juve fans would admit that too tbh. they were nothing before Conte. Also Pogba came into a winning machine that had just gone a season unbeaten at the exact moment Milan was selling off Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic. Tevez came after Milan was on its knees. Neither of them made Juve a winning machine—they came into a ready-made one.
This guy already talks like a Interista 🙂
