Fiorentina defender Nenad Tomovic spoke with b92.net ahead of the season opener away against Inter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro.
“This year we have a lot of new players and the squad has been revolutionized, it is only normal that a little bit of time is necessary in order to adapt to the new system. The fact that the defence has done well in the preseason matches is a great satisfaction, I hope that we continue like this during the season. We are creating a new cycle and it is only normal that we have gone through a big change. I have been amongst the more experience players in the squad for a few years now but my ambitions have always remained the same.”
Tomovic then moved on to speak about the match against Inter stating that “in all honesty I cannot wait to start the season and to fight for the win. Inter have also brought in a bunch of players and I am sure that they have the quality to be one of the teams to fight for the title. Up until now they have worked really well but I still hope to achieve a good result.”

Inter have nowhere near the quality yet to challenge for the Scudetto.
Inter will challenge for 4th place, thats the target.
Actually, i always think we could fight for scudetto every year.. At least until mid season.. Yeah i’m pretty optimistic person
with no eu football i expect inter to give the first place team a good run for as long as possible; that is the very least i expect!
When Conte’s Rube won the Scudetto for the first time, nobody thought that they had the quality to challenge for the titile, yet they did because they had the grit, personality, and luck. With Nagamrosio + Murillo + Kondo out, I feel like we have players that actually believe in themselves and have enough quality to win us the Scudetto…
But the thing is, nagamrosio’s + murillo’s + kondo’s replacements aren’t even tested players yet, of course besides borja. Skriniar has been great so far, but it still is a pre season. Dalbert and cancelo are a huge gamble and we cannot be sure if they will solve our fullback problems.
What I am trying to say is that we are having a very average mercato with a lot of gambles, while still having nagatomo in the team.
Suning could have done so much better in this window, but they preferred not too.

We managed to keep our good players, and brought in some reinforcements along with a good coach, I think that’s less gambling than selling the whole team and buying expensive players…
I agree. But to be quite frank with u, even you and I would do better than nagatomo and dambrosio. Jokes aside, they got more than they deserve in terms of chances on the field.
Dalbert and cancelo are most certainly going to have a high work rate, the rest comes later! I dont expect insta success, but i wont rule it away either.
