Luciano Spalletti has given Davide Santon a new lease of life since becoming manager. Gazzetta dello Sport report that Santon has a different mental state and is on a specialised training regime which helps him avoid the injuries that have plagued him of late. Both of which have let him come back in to match day squad consideration.
The 26-year-old will not start in the derby on October 15 but it likely to be granted some game time near the end of the game.

Santon in form is a solid option, he can dribble and feed our attackers when hes confident, hoping he makes a comeback and makes the wc squad but d ambrosio is looking a safer bet right now while cancelo returns
He may be more of an option for the left.
That’s our worst flank, since honestly so far this Dalbert guy is…meh.
On the right D’ambro and Cancelo are just fine.
They are both better than Santon in their own ways.
I wonder if Santon could start a new career as a CB ,since that’s where we need better alternatives than Ranocchia.
tbh there arent many viable options for fullbacks these days, i think with some solid coaching spalletti will get the most out of dalbert hopefully
Possible.
I hope you are right.
Great for the recovery, but i don’t see Santon stepping onto that field during the derby unless w’ere winning by two or more goals. – The guy hasn’t played in months and we have Cancello and Karamoh who need minutes.
cancelo might not be ready yet but would lovveee to see more of karamoh
