Gazzetta dello Sport have heaped praise on Inter midfield duo Roberto Gagliardini and Matias Vecino for the work they have put in together this season alongside one another.
Both players have proved more than useful to the cause and both obviously still have room to improve. The duo’s work in the midfield has enabled manager Luciano Spalletti to deploy fellow midfielder Borja Valero in a more advanced role as a trequartista. Valero has been allowed to shine and have more freedom due to the coverage he has behind him from the Italian and Uruguayan.
Moreover, Gazzetta have labelled Gagliardini and Vecino’s performances this term as one of the biggest surprises of Inter’s season where, as a team they have been one of the revelations of the Serie A. Former Atalanta man Gagliardini has appeared in nine of Inter’s 10 games while Vecino has played a part in every game and scored once and assisted twice.

i want to believe that in all nagatomo’s seasons this is the only season where he played under a decent coach maybe thats why he got better . also D’Dambrosio gotten better this season what do u guys think?
plus there is some cohesion between him and perisic im talking outside football a bromance in the air which will only reflect positive during matches
Nagatomo was good under Mazzarri.
Yes, and i think the good human, personal cohesion between naga and peri may be one the factors which make spallo prefer naga to Dalbert.
Lol, if I have had these many chances in a top club, I’d had gotten one decent game. Naga$h*t did great this game, but a professional player should have 1 decent game in 8 seasons in one team… REALLY?
Thank you! I can’t believe that Inter fans on this site are happy with Nagatomo after 1 or 2 good games!
Why shouldn’t we?
When he is good he is good, what’s wrong with that?
You want him to be bad, so it shows ” you were right in dissing him ?”
The whole Meazza did a standing ovation on him.
He was amazing versus samp.
Nothing wrong and everything right about that, because that was a piece of Inter playing much better than before…
Meazza doing a standing ovation does not really prove anything. The Curva still bashes our best player, Mauro Icardi.
And for friends saying that he had also other decent games, I disagree. This was the first game that he contributed (somewhat) offensively as well. Even at his best game of his career for Inter, he did not deliver ONE useful cross.
Open your eyes guys. We owe nothing to Naga$h*t. He has been collecting salaries with mainly $h*t performances for 8 seasons now…
It’s not about being right or wrong. I was wrong about Icardi and Perisic. But I am happy that I was wrong about them! And I wish Naga can prove me wrong! But 2 decent games and now we should sing praises for Nagatomo? He is absolute garbage and he will need to have an amazing 38 games for me to change my mind and the mind of many fans.
Sure, but my point is that Naga has been preforming really well in every one of the 10 games he has played this season, against, Fiorentina, Roma, Napoli etc…
Couldnt agree more with you. I wish there were more smart interistas like you..
Actually naga was decent in his first 2 seasons with us.
To be honest gaglia does great defensive, solid, basic work but, particularly toward the end of the game when he is tired he starts missing basics like ball stops and medium difficulty passes.
Maybe he should be a starter, yes, but he should often be subbed.
Vecino instead , big, solid surprise, he is so good.
Talking about surprises:
Nagatomo!!
The bonsai samurai got a standing ovation from the Meazza yesterday!
totaly agree with you, gagliardini is good in defending and covering the midfield with short passes but when we need a fast attack, maybe a counter, most of the time he doing it wrong either he stop the momentum by doing backpass or doing an inaccurate pass to the front, he need to improve himself in attacking..
I agree , and i see this current Gaglia reminds me of Thiago Motta only missing the attributes that you already mention above…
Nice competition in midfield with all 5 deserve starting spot
JM doesn’t
We been giving naga chances since tvs were black and white with no colors. JM has 2 bad games after injury and u wanna burn his card on the bench already? To expect immediate chimestry between the entire squad this early on does not sound reasonable to me. JM shines as a midfielder and not as tranquistra so far imo. I like JM cos i see alot of potential in him being like naingolan who charges forward no problem.
Anyways forza inter
JM should/could be a great cm, but the problem is not his shooting, but that he is almost as soft as a poodle. I think he just genuinely and instinctively just doesn´t like contact. I hope he could toughen up, but I fear he won´t. If he would be tougher all Inter coaches would have played him as cm.
He has sweet technique as hell, he has brains and pace. At the moment he is at the worst point of his Inter career, nothing is going for him and his confidence is probably low.
I would and I think Spalletti will give him time to show that he can shine in this Inter team. He might still surprise us. He will shine somewhere for sure, like in Spain I think he would be a fine cm. I like him a lot, but I also doubt him. This season will show if he is cut for Inter.
naga first 2 seasons was the best naga I ever seen. That naga is by far, better than today naga. Saying that he never really shine with us is really harsh statement.
Read the comment man. Why do you have to write an essay with useless arguments when I only said that at the moment JM does not deserve a starting spot. What cards, what naingolan comparisons….
Still need CMs for back up those players.
